I was barred from this establishment because I answered a question someone had asked on Google Reviews. The question was "How is the service?" to which I responded "depends on who's working." I didn't think this was a terrible answer, as this is the situation in many bars, but the owner did. He told me not to come back. He also accused me of disliking the manager, which is not true. Disliking someone and disliking what they do are two different things. I simply don't think she's qualified to run a bar.
I had spoken with the owner previously after I posted a mostly negative review, which came from my frustration in wanting to see what I considered to be my "home bar" be a success. It was pretty clear after speaking with him, that he was not willing to do anything differently. He had asked that I remove my review, which I did, but immediately after speaking with him, we went into the front bar, and one of the very issues I had brought up regarding the service being lacking, happened again. At that point I knew things were never going to change.
Condensed review: Service is definitely lacking, bar continues to close early, even when they have a decent crowd and people are spending money, music which was cut back to one weekend night, will be discontinued after the end of the year, at which point the back bar will be barren except during football season. (So much for the music room)
They have alienated many of their loyal good paying customers because they don't feel appreciated, and have barred any who attempt to make suggestions. I have received tons of support and have been told by many of the past and present customers that they either go there a lot less often than they used to, or have stopped going completely. Many are looking for new places to go. The saddest part about it is that the manager and owner are either oblivious or simply don't care.
I have been doing google reviews for years. The purpose of a review is not to say all good things, but rather to inform the public and offer constructive criticism. I removed my original review-this one is staying.
"I don't make enemies, it's just that I'm not afraid to speak my mind, which sometimes means people don't like what I'm saying."
"Those who matter don't mind, and those who mind...

Oh! And the food...
Read moreThis place has what every football fan wants and needs! 19 big screen televisions in the bar area, which has completely been renovated. Super clean and well lit with a fantastic sports bar ambience, and with a fantastic menu to boot. Other than the crab cake, everything is pretty much under $16 when it comes to food, with expansive selection ranging from bar food appetizers to sandwiches to actual main entrees, and even a kid's menu that is $6 and under for items. Adjacent to the bar is a super unique restaurant area that has even larger big screen tv's in it with walls of exposed brick throughout and oversized booth tables that comfortably seat up to six people at a time. Beer is the name of the game as the most expensive beer you will buy at any time is friggin' FOUR AMERICAN DOLLARS! I almost fell over. Natty Boh on draft is $2. All bottled beer is $2, with the exception of Coronas, which is only an additional dollar. Moreover, if you come by on Sunday, the joint is hooked up with NFL Total Ticket, so, if you have friends who are out-of-towners, they will not be disappointed because they can watch their game as well the Ravens! On game day there is a sweet special in that they have an additional "$6 Dollar Menu" that includes all the faves such as chili dogs (2), Pretzels with queso sauce, Dos Tacos (2), or Three sliders either of pork/cole slaw or beef/cheese. It goes without saying that I highly recommend this place. Sunday night they have outstanding karaoke. Wednesday nights are wing night (7 for $7) and you can get a 64oz pitcher of Natty Boh for friggin' TEN DOLLARS (wha?). Being an original native of Essex, we stopped in here today on the way back into the city for a quick bite at lunch, and we were not let down in any way. Exceptional customer service with a very personal and genuine touch. Get off your couch and support this wonderful small business the next chance you have....
