Mr. Wok — Restaurant in Dundee Township

Under new owners. Why did I say this first? I have been coming here for probably a year now and except for the last two times, there was definitely something going on with the staff not getting along. I am happy to report all of the staff drama is over because the new owners resolved the staffing issues. I come here because there aren't other restaurants I like that are close to the grocery store and are also open on Mondays.

I'm disappointed they don't have poke bowls anymore but it's not a huge loss because they were good but not great. The other items I had under the old ownership were also just ok.

I noticed it seems the new owners or the chef must be Chinese vs another Asian ethnicity because there were so many Western Chinese items on the new menu, so I decided to have a Chinese dish this time: shrimp with broccoli. Thankfully they were able to make it spicy for me.

It was fabulous. They have a top chef here because the shrimp was tender, the broccoli was fresh and crisp and exactly the right amount of spiciness was added for my taste. Plus there was lots of garlic and you can't go wrong with garlic.

Where I live we have a Chinese sit down restaurant. We used to go there for birthdays and we picked-up takeout often. Then they got new owners. I ate there two times and told my family I'm not going back unless something changes. The flavors were horrible!

Long story short, I am very happy to have good Chinese food nearby again although Mr. Wok is not close enough for us to eat here frequently. But we will definitely get takeout from time to time. It’s interesting to see all the good reviews about dining in when takeout is an absolute nightmare. The employee handed me one bag and started talking to customers next to me so I assumed that was all. After TEN MINUTES this guy calls me saying I made a mistake and forgot something not even trying to find a solution only called to be rude so I had to figure everything out while driving. I already filed a report to DoorDash for this behavior. It’s not that hard to pay a little more attention to customers that are right in front of you to make sure they get their entire order but if your just there to talk to everyone stop playing cashier. After reading your response you must not have read what I said YOU started talking to someone else after just handing me one bag so I don’t see where I have no manners I didn’t run out of the store with one bag, you handed me one and immediately started talking to the people next to me how was I supposed to know that there was more I am doordashing and I can only see limited things on my screen was I supposed to just wait until you finished your conversations? Be for real YOU also waited ten minutes before calling me being rude offering no solution I’m the one who had to waste time because you couldn’t do the simple job of handing me the entire order before starting to speak to someone else your response shows just how incompetent and rude you are. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with this you clearly don’t see where you went wrong you had a lot to say on the phone and a lot to say on here but when I went back in to get the rest of the food it was real...

I placed an order online and did not realize it was 20 mins before they closed. After I submitted my order and noticed it was so close to closing, My daughter called to make sure they received our order and the guy that answered the phone was sooo nice about it. Our order had just came through. He told us it would be 15 mins. We picked it up within that 15 mins and EVERYTHING was so hot and fresh and delicious!!!! It was better than I ever thought it could be with it being 20 mins from them closing!! We ordered pork fried rice, pork pancit, beef egg foo young, an boba, and 2 sweet and sour chicken dinners with fried rice. The dinners came with 1 egg roll and 1 crab rangoon. The egg roll and crab rangoon maintained their crispiness almost 2 hours after picking up the food. I just can not say it enough how hot, fresh, and delicious this food was!!! I highly recommend this place if you have that Chinese food craving!!! This will be my “go to” place from now on!!!!!
