Absolutely the WORST experience in my life. Let me start by saying I attempted to purchase a Samsung Double Oven along with a Samsung Dishwasher on September 29, 2022 and I am STILL waiting to receive a phone call from the General Manager as of today (November 5, 2022). I was told his name is Gilbert, but have no way of knowing if it is true or not. To summarize; the double oven was too big according to Best Buy's third-party delivery service and they didn't even bother to take it off the truck. When I asked the delivery men the size of my current double oven they responded, "28 inches." He. the driver then said, "Stick with GE that way it will fit." The dishwasher was installed with no issues and before he left I asked how wide was the Samsung double oven? He told me it was 29.25 inches. So, the following day I had to purchase a second double oven and chose a GE double oven with the assistance of someone at their 800 number. I then reminded the representative they had signed me up for the 18 month zero interest program but I in fact wanted the 5% off promotion I had seen in the Algonquin, Illinois store when I made the original purchase of the Samsung double oven and dishwasher. She said I needed to go into the store if I wanted to switch to the 5% off promotion. Needless to say I wasn't happy but called the store and explained what she said in order to verify she had told me the truth. Ironically the person I spoke to was the same person who sold the items to me (Vicente) and he confirmed she was correct. I told him I'd be in in two days to fix things and he said he'd be there and I should ask for him. As instructed I asked for him and then listened to complain about the third-party delivery service they use as he tried to fix the paperwork which was messed up due to them not following the rules. In the end I had to buy the second double oven (GE) and was forced to wait almost a month for a check refunding me for the first oven (Samsung). On top of that when I reviewed the receipt there was no 5% off. When I pointed out the missing 5% Vicente stood up and in a loud voice said he never promised or said anything about 5% off. "It is 5% in REWARD points." I was shocked. Neither he, nor the original representative said 5% in reward points. He lied and I immediately asked to speak to his manager. He then said he was the Algonquin, Illinois store manager so I asked to speak to his superior and he sarcastically said he'd let him know and walked away. Week later the second double oven was delivered and it too was too large. They had measured wrong for the second time I had to deal with a return and this time they credited my account. In closing, I have spoken with at least twenty representatives from Best Buy and requested a GM call me, but to date it has never happened. The Algonquin, Illinois store has an inept manager who lied to me and my wife. He vigorously hates the delivery company Best Buy contracts and claimed they mess things up ALL THE TIME. The 800 representatives listen to you but don't help at all and the GM is abscent or ignorant. Stay away from Algonquin, Illinois Best Buy if they'd lie to me a disabled citizen you can bet they will lie to you!...
Read moreMy family and I went to buy a washer, dryer, oven and dish washer. We were greeted by a young guy who asked what we were there for and told us where the appliances were. We waited about ten minutes before looking for someone to help. I spoke to a man in the pc department who told me someone would be there in a moment, fifteen minutes later a heavy set man walks right up to my family, without saying a word, then continued around and past us to the warehouse. At this point I'm very upset so I walk with my son to the front security and greeters where three representatives are standing talking. I tell the security that my family and I have been waiting for help and that I have spoken to three people who didn't come to help so if no one was in the appliances in five minutes I'm going to take my business elsewhere. At this point Mikey, who was the representative I was speaking to, tells me to calm down and that when we came in we were specifically told that if we need assistance we need to come back to the front and ask for someone to come to the appliances. Fortunately the gentleman he was speaking with at the front named Ron took the initiative to help a customer. I attempting to buy a washer, dryer and dishwasher but at this point my 3-year-old and 6-year-old have been stuck in a retail store for the better part of 45 minutes so I took my business elsewhere for the oven. Even when I was leaving I walked right past Mikey once more who stared off into the distance intentionally did not say a word to me but the people right behind me he said have a good day too. It's honestly embarrassing that a representative would feel it's appropriate to treat a family of four spending thousands of dollars like they are a bunch of incompetent morons, I don't work for Best buy and I haven't been to a Best buy since covid started so I expect when I walked in to spend close to about $6,000 that I would be greeted and helped within a timely manner like my money that I'm spending their matters but the worst part of it all is that when I come to an associate with a problem I'm told to calm down, I'm put in my place like I...
Read moreEvery time I go to this store I get upset. The customer service is terrible. Avoid this location like the plague!
In 2017 I’ve spent a minimum of 15K and if I end up getting a washer and dryer this year it will be almost 17K.
I went in with 10K to put together a home theater package and was ready to pay, if someone would answer my questions. I couldn’t even get a straight answer on subwoofer cables from the Magnolia rep before he made it clear he wasn’t interested in my questions and started texting on his phone and not listening to my questions. I stormed out irritated and went to Crystal Lake and got the service I was looking for and gave them the 10K home theater order.
I have a Mavic Pro drone and I need propellers for it. After having to go across the store to get someone to help me after staring at people to try to get their attention for about 10 minutes, he first couldn’t answer my questions about the product. I then asked if I could have access to the display so that I could be sure the propellers they had available would fit as I needed them too, a simple request. They made up some excuse that “they’re bolted down” and I said “That’s fine, I don’t need to pick it up, I just need access to the propeller, you can just lift up the plastic display case” and he said “we don’t do that”. I said “ok, thanks for absolutely nothing” went to the manager to complain and the manager was as useless as the floor staff! Maybe these morons could listen to their customers needs and maybe even learn something from the customer that might help them in the future. But they’d rather stand around and get paid than actually know anything about what they’re employed to sell. If I knew it all, I’d just buy everything from amazon right? No wonder they’re struggling.
On that note, the Crystal Lake store is about 15-20 minutes north of this lousy location. If you want to be addressed and helped in your purchase, go to Crystal Lake. That was my last stop at the Algonquin store. I’ll...
