If you're a boba tea lover—or even just boba-curious—you have to check out this incredible spot in Dunedin. Hands down, this is the best boba shop I've ever been to (and I’ve tried plenty!).

What sets them apart? Let’s start with their massive 32-ounce bucket of happiness. Yes, bucket—and it’s as glorious as it sounds. My go-to is the Tiger Milk Tea with coconut milk and crème brûlée foam toasted on top, add a drizzle of chocolate sauce. The result? It literally tastes like a toasted marshmallow by a campfire—smooth, creamy, and indulgent with just the right hint of smokiness. Total game-changer.

They also use real Thai tea leaves, not the powdered or syrupy shortcuts most shops rely on. Their ceremonial grade matcha is the real deal too—earthy, vibrant, and beautifully smooth.

Mostly good teas and coffees. Not everything is a hit. Can be inconsistent drink quality with favorites and with long wait times. Great location and cute store. Their loyalty card program is weird and confusing though. Heard mixed instructions on how it works and actually confused the owner at one of my visits too. Most boba places honor the 10th drink free but this place could either be 10 or 11 or not at all depending on who you get at the register interpreting your loyalty card. For the high prices they charge, they should definitely honor every 10th as reflected on their card and a courtesy to their loyal customers in this inflationary market. magic had a ton of options, great in-store but online ordering system, and lovely drinks from coffee to lemonades to fruit teas, etc! i wished i could try one of everything. my family and i tried the matcha cream latte (pictured), tropical coconut green tea, and the sunset in hibiscus. the sugar level we chose was honored and the fruit toppings (dragonfruit cubes, strawberries) were super enjoyable. the boba was pretty soft, but i still liked it. drinks were a little expensive but pretty on par with boba these days, so i can’t blame it on the shop. i would definitely come back to magic tea and coffee again to try out more...
