This is a mixed review. My wife and I came to eat at the Bussin Jerk. The food and service at the Bussin Jerk was a 5 out of 5. However what spoiled the evening and us being returning customers to Politan Row was the customer service we received from the main Politan bar near the front entrance. We sat down to order two drinks and it took a while before we were serviced. Once we were serviced it took an extremely long time to get out drinks. The bar was not super busy so there really wasnât an excuse there. The situation escalated because our bartender (we did not get his name but he knows who he is if he reads this review) was more interested in to talking to two ladies across from us than making our drinks. There were 6 six people who got seated about 5-7 mins after we were seated who got their drink orders taken and made by another bar tender, while our tender had yet to make our two drinks which were put in well before the other customers. At this point 15-17 mins goes by and we have to alert the bartender who made the 6 drinks to get our bar tenders attention to actually make our drinks. The other bar tender brought over 1 of the drinks, while our bartender continues to engage in more conversation while not doing anything. After about 7 mins goes by as we watch all of this happens he finally brings our 2nd drink. We provide feedback to let him know that it shouldnât have take almost 25 mins to make two drinks while another bartender cranked out 6 drinks in less than 10 mins. We noted that he shouldâve prioritized doing his job instead of talking to the same two customers (who were not ordering drinks by the way). He did not take kindly to the feedback proceeded to inform us that he takes time to make his drinks and that he talks while making drinks. He stated that he didnât want to be rude to the ladies he was taking to. He also said that he is not like the other bartender and that he hand crafts his drinks. At this point we realized he was doubling down on his lack of customer service and didnât even offer an apology by this time in the conversation. As an additional note the drinks are not handcrafted. Itâs just shaking and pouring happening. Itâs not like he is brewing tequila in the back and picking limes off a tree in the garden to make our drinks. We kindly told him to take the drinks back. Then he kept angrily rambling on about nothing after we told him we were done with him and this interaction.
Itâs not like we started off this interaction rudely in any manner, we were very patient and calm actually. We just sat down and ordered drinks like everyone else except he was not willing to do his job and when we called him on it he was not willing to take accountability. Even the people who got their drinks before us witnessed everything happening and were just as shocked as we were.
We then spoke to the bar manager and explained the situation. She immediately apologized and rectified the situation by escorting us to the bar at the rear end of the Politan which had a better ambiance and gave us Spicy Margaritas on the house for the situation that transpired. We appreciated that someone was willing to listen to us and provide a solution to a seemingly weird, unwarranted, and unprovoked interaction. The bar managers name was Ty. Thank you for the service and we left the bartender who made our on the house drinks a tip upon our exit.
With all that being said this ruined the energy and the vibes of the evening for us because we had to argue with a bartender about actually doing their job. We would likely not come back even if we were in the area because there is no shortage of places to eat and drink in the Atlanta Metro area. We would likely not recommend friends and family to come either just from this interaction alone. I hope there was a conversation had with that particular bartender and he received proper training on customer service in a bar environment.
From a time stamp perspective we were there around 10pm...
Read morenice and beautiful place. i will say this is my third time visiting. i did try the key lime pie and it was beyond cheap tasting. very jello like, seems like there is some cutting corners going on. so just donât recommend you try that. I will say i had the thai food it was pretty good for what i payed for it i was expecting more though. i will definetely come back and visit and try some other vendors because there are so many. i wanted to point out that the staff is very nice too, i will add there should be more cleaning in between because as i sat at my table i could tell it wasnât wiped down after the previous clients. bathrooms are extremely awkward because you share sinks and there is no separation for men and women. as for the speakeasy bar, i went there when they first opened and was the only customer at the time and was treated very badly by the bartender when i was asking drinks were available. this time i decided to come back and i sat there looking at the menu and no one from the bar asked me if i needed help. that same bartender ended up coming to a table right next to us and greeted them very nicely and asked them what they want to drink. keep in mind iâve been sitting there for 15 minutes and nothing MIND YOU they just walked in!! i was very amused as i felt extremely ignored and discriminated by the workers. Interestingly enough a staff member from the food entered the speakeasy and asked me if i needed anything, after the bartender just walked right past me. there is nothing wrong with this beautiful establishment i love it but i do see the discriminatory acts within the...
Read moreMy experience at Okay Annyâs (which is the bar located directly in the middle back) was very uncomfortable. The manager on the day of my visit was Ashley. And as I set back to observe I noticed her singling out certain employees. While at the bar I witness her talking about certain employees as soon as they walked away. I noticed Ashley would only make certain remarks to the same person and as soon as the employee would walk away she told another bartender, âokay, I got her out of hereâ. When the employee would come back she would make remarks ONLY TO HER about how she was wiping the counters , making drinks , speed of service and confirmation of payments. (Just picking at her) I even witnessed her YELL at her when she was standing right beside her. (Itâs not a loud bar). I witnessed her tell her not to be social with customers!!!! I also watched her pick small fights with the bartender while customers were watching. The bartender wasnât retaliating to Ashley nor did she do anything wrong to cause Ashleys behavior in the first place. Ashleyâs energy made me cringe. Not once did I see Ashley congratulate her team during the shift or say anything encouraging or even try to redirect them in a positive matter if something was wrong. I work in the food industry so I pay attention to detail. I couldnât even stand to sit and watch her behavior so I ended up leaving. A bar is supposed to welcoming, a place to relax after a long day of work. As I was was exiting I did let upper management Reggie and Mike know about...
