La Bonne Patisserie — Restaurant in Durango

Unfortunately for me, the flavors and offerings missed the mark. When I think of a French patisserie I expect to see a mix of sweet, savory pastries as well as gateau. The offerings here were 90% savory and the dough was too heavy for a traditional light French pastry.

Updating my original review above, they have listened to feedback from reviews and tried to adjust menu and have hired someone friendly to work at the front and create friendly atmosphere. This is a pleasant addition to north Durango. While I agree with a previous poster that the dough is a little heavy, it must be to carry the southwest flavors of some of the pastries. One of my favorites, the green chile and micro greens, worked amazingly; a strong green chile flavor and a slight heat that wasn’t over powering. It melted my heart originally being from Albuquerque. My next favorite, the Breton roll: holy shneikies, dip it in your coffee sit back and just bask in its glory. I’ll absolutely be back and I hope they grow to be able to expand...

I absolutely LOOOOVVVEEE this place! So many yummy items to choose from. The chocolate croissant is a favorite but I can't tell you my ultimate favorite because it sells out so quickly and if I keep spreading the word I will never get any. Lol you'll just have to take my word and just go and try different things and find your favorite one. I have several. The staff is so nice and friendly and its also adjacent to a coffee ship.
