El Kanelo? More like El S h i t! Went in with a group of 5 for my friend’s 21st birthday and everything started off great. The appetizers (guacamole, salsa and queso with chips) were good. My friend ordered a house margarita and it was 8.99. For house mix? Really? The tequila tasted cheap. We got our food and they messed up my friend’s order entirely. She ordered fajitas and they were served on a cold plate instead of a skillet! Let me advise you that this was a pile of beef fajita meat and they actually only gave her 3 small, store bought tortillas! They charged her for cheese which should have came with the fajitas but whatever. On to my food, I got a taco and a chicken enchilada with rice and beans.... the taco tasted horrible, like the cheapest taco seasoning you could find at Walmart. The enchilada? Dry. The queso on top of it was hard like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for too long. The rice and beans were the only thing I could bring myself to eat. We ran out of drinks and it seemed like we asked 4 different employees for assistance and each time it took them about 10 minutes to return for even something as little as a glass of water. They were not busy at all. At the end of the meal, they gave us our checks. My friend who ordered the fajitas asked for more tortillas after eating the 3 small ones and they return quickly with them AND another check charging her for them. I looked at him and I asked “Why are you charging for tortillas when she had fajitas? You can’t eat fajitas without them, they should be complimentary.” He insisted that we pay for them but we did not. We didn’t leave a tip either for any one of those 4 incompetent servers. Worst experience with a manager ive ever had. My order was old and i asked for them to refund it and that i would bring the food there. He refused to speak to me after waiting on him for 30 minutes over the phone. Then told the lady that i was speaking to, to have me drive all the way up there. i proceeded to do as they asked and brought what food was left including the food that wasnt quite so bad, but when i got there everyone was rude to me. continued to try and lie to me saying i didint bring back what i did. and was overall very very rude. when the manager finally decided to talk to me he only offered to give me back 22 dollars on a 106 dollar meal that they had royally messed up and was an hour old. I asked for them to refund the whole thing as we had not eaten very much of it at all, and he proceeds to pick up the food that i brought back with his hands and points a tortilla at me and talks about how im asking him to refund good food. after they had asked me to come up there. he then proceeds to not want to give me a refund at all. so i told him to give me a second while i call my sister. he then listens to my call with my sister and i had asked her what im supposed to do because they basiclly stole 100 dollars from us, and i asked if i should call the police, then he immediately got defensive refused to talk to me took the 22 dollars and my receipt inside and wont talk to me over the phone. he said he was going to call the police but after waiting another 15 minutes and having had to wait a total of an hour and a half over a dinner that wasnt even fit for my dog. i had no food in hand or money. I don’t think we will return. We loved this place but the food and service was bad. My food came after everyone at my table was done eating. My mother in law had to ask twice for a drink. My daughter and her friends food came out when my husband and mother in law were half way through their food. The guy who brought their food had no idea which table it was supposed to go to so he walked around with it for a few minutes before they received it. My husbands enchiladas were not good. He normally orders the same thing and loved it but tonight it did not taste the same. It was supposed to come with beans but he didn’t get any but that’s probably a good thing. My mother in law said hers tasted scorched. The waiter was far from attentive to us or the table next to us. We had to ask for my food twice only for it to still take another 7 minutes for me to receive it. All I had were fries and carne asada tacos. Waiter said he would bring more chips and salsa, never got it. I ordered cheese so I could dip my fries. Waiter walked around with it for a while, came our way and my mother in law asked him for it. We did not leave a tip. My husband went back in to pay( he forgot that you have to pay upfront and left it at the table) the waiter got it and was taking it to the front when my husband walked back in. He chose to call my husband a cabron as my husband was turning around to walk out. We loved coming here. We made sure to stop here even though it was completely out of our way( we live almost an hour away) we won’t make that...
