I decided to try bul box for the first time, and I wanted the Katsu bowl to go. The staff was working to fill orders and did not acknowledge the 4 customers waiting in front of them. As stated, this was my first time. I had no idea what to do. I watched for about 2-3 minutes and finally I asked how do I get an order. And only then, someone acknowledged. If the staff is going work this way, maybe bul box should invest in signage to explain how to place and order for takeout. Oh yeah the food was okay. I’m not sure if the dish was supposed to be hot or cold. Since the chicken had to be cooked, the only thing that was warm in my bowl was the chicken. I’m sure if the vegetables were to be cold or what. This just my opinion and observation as a paying customer. I’m sure they must be doing well because the lack of customer service and the steady flow of traffic was constant. For me, I...
Read moreThe food is really good but it would be nice if they had a smaller pasta and chicken for kids so we could go more often. I'm not willing to pay 2x$13 for them to eat noodles and a bite of chicken so having a kid option would be nice. The bowls themselves are terrific and a good value.
Edit to add the presumably new employee failed to put the meat in either of the two bowls. When I called to let them know they offered that I could drive 40 minutes there and back for a scoop of beef. I choose not to do that as they're out of the way. I will supervise them a bit more closely from now on as they don't write down the orders and this isn't the first time they've messed up, just the first major omission where it's otherwise usually messing up a substitution. Sort of irked at the tip menu. There's no table service. It's fast food and not usually correct so far even so a tip...
Read moreI’m extremely disappointed in the way Bul Box in South Square handled a serious situation involving my friend. After being in a car accident, she responsibly reached out and even provided proof of what happened. Instead of showing any level of compassion or understanding, they fired her—knowing she was already going through a lot, including a loss of power and other personal hardships.
The management showed zero empathy, acted completely unprofessional, and treated her like she was disposable. It’s one thing to run a business, but it’s another to treat human beings with basic respect. The attitude across the staff is rude, cold, and degrading. No one deserves to be treated this way, especially during a time of crisis.
Would not recommend working here or supporting a business that doesn’t care...
