Delightful and delicious trip down memory lane for this NJ Italian American ! Thank you to the Dino’s crew for an inspiring opening night! From the moment you walk in and see the stained glass chandeliers of yesteryear set against the brown paneling you know you’ve entered a dream come true. The walls sing With the Rat Pack nostalgia while John Travolta hits his mighty Uncle Sam point all in the reflection of smoky graphite 70’s mirrors above the bar like your grandma had in her lavish entryway in Secaucus or Bayonne. This is one of those “lived” dining experiences that makes the world all right again! Calamari crisp, light and tender. Not too salty. Eggplant parm with actual eggplant versus those horrible frozen breadcrumb patties we have other local places and tomato sauce that was fresh and flavorful. The rigatoni with vodka was aldente and the sauce light and not too soupy and wet all over the plate like your drunk Aunt Antoinette dropped the ladle by accident. The Italian chopped salad with fresh greens, divine little bites of provolone, sun dried tomatoes, and marinated cici beans. The red wine vinegar was balanced with a touch of oregano and I didn’t regret it at all. I mean everywhere we turned it brought tiny tears of joy. The pizza for $18 was 16 generous inches and looked like a movie star. This unpretentious beauty had fresh tomato sauce (not canned and full of sugar) fresh basil and the best thin crispy crust with slightly charred bubbles Ive seen since Naples last summer. This was no accidental charring it was skilled, placed and deliberate. Where else can you get a delicious pinot Grigio in a nice cold glass for $8.50 and two cannolis with wonderfully homemade cannoli cream and delicate crispy shells for $5. I am calling it home folks.

They're still working through the normal rough edges of a newly opened restaurant, which is to be expected for another month or so. The servers were all incredibly friendly, I'll be back again down the road to try a few more things. It could just be because mine were undercooked, but I definitely don't understand the magic of pizza logs! Five or six pieces of pepperoni wrapped around a mozzarella stick, put it in an egg roll wrapper and deep frying it seems like it should have been a slam dunk as an appetizer but it was underwhelming. The mozzarella wasn't melted or even fully warmed. The other orders I noticed coming out of the kitchen all looked to be the same level of done, so I'm not sure if this was everybody's experience. The pizza was the star of the show! I know this is purely subjective, but if you're a local in Durham and enjoy crusts in the realm of Toro and Ponysauras I suspect you'll enjoy this! Perfectly thin and it held up well to the toppings, just the right amount of chewy. I kept it simple with their mushroom pizza from the white section of the signature pies with no regrets.

The wait time was just under two hours for a 3 top. I was surprised to see that they had a paper wait list instead of a more modern system. The food was pretty good. We got two pizzas. The red was the sausage pizza and the white was the arugula and prosciutto. The base for the white was a little too light for my preference, but the red was very good. We also got an order of mozzarella sticks which were cooked perfectly, but they are more like mozzarella slabs than sticks and made sharing a little awkward. I was surprised they didn’t have an option for the sticks like they do you for the garlic knots. We did put an order of garlic knots in but we never received them and then we were told that they had run out at the very end of the meal. The barbera wine is very good and pairs well with the pizza. The atmosphere is classic pizza spot and does hit some nostalgic feelings. In all, I don’t think the food is worth a 2 hour wait, but it is solidly in the upper tier of pizza in the area.

We drove 45 minutes to try this pizza after seeing pictures circulating online. We are aware new restaurants have kinks to work out but we just got a bad vibe and service from the second we walked in. We got sat right away which was nice, however walking around is very tight. The staff did not seem to care about giving good service. No greetings from either the host or server. Just straight to “how many, follow me” and at the table my daughter and I weren’t even seated yet and the server asked if we knew what we wanted. Took 15 minutes to get my Tito’s and sprite after ordering and it was a Tito’s and lemonade. I drank it anyways and just asked it to be made right upon second drink with dinner. My husband asked for Jack and they said they do not have it and offered only more expensive whiskey. She took our order and the pizza came out about 25 minutes later, wrong. We send it back and the server asks if we’d like something else while waiting. We say yes a salad. The manager walks out our next pizza, which was still wrong and looked worse than the original one they gave us due to being rushed. We asked for it to be cooked well done and it was not. The salad never came nor did the server to check in on us but it was still on the bill and she was much faster checking on the bill than at any other point of service. The table next to us got their food boxed for them and we got handed a tiny box for our entire pizza we had to wait for. There was no condiments on the table not even salt and pepper, and the serving plates were odd shape for a pizza place. Also to note that most of the staff were very obviously liberal, which has no place in the work place and should be part of uniform to more neutral. We normally tip 30-40% for service and instead we tipped much much lower due to the multiple mistakes and zero service. It’s a shame because the food has potential to put them on the map but they very obviously didn’t spend much time selecting and training good and...

I've had a lot of pizza/wings in my life growing up in PA/NY so I was really excited to see this place open. Before doing my review my wife and I went twice. Here are my thoughts:

Pizza 7/10 - the ingredients are fresh but the construction was just not for me. We got the pepperoni and the topping made the pizza very floppy. Completely understand the crust is thin but that should be accounted for.

Buffalo wings 10/10 - These are what carried my review honestly. The buffalo wings are the best in the triangle and some of the best wings I've had. They hit the mark perfectly with NY style buffalo wings.

Spinach and artichoke dip 10/10 - really tasty and went well with the bread

Calimari 9/10 - really good and like the peppers with it. Fry on it was great as well. I just wish there was more for the price

Chicken parm meal 6/10 - This was disappointing. The sauce and cheese were great but the chicken was extremely overcooked and made it tough. The chicken also didn't taste like much

Meatball sandwich 7/10 - it was good but the meatballs just didn't have much flavor. The sauce and cheese did a lot of the heavy lifting

So overall, the food is good for what it is and I was planning on going with 4/4.5 stars until I got the bill yesterday. The prices here for the food type are crazy. For 2 appetizers, a glass of wine, a sandwich, and an entree, the bill was $76. I'm sorry it's pizza and wings and that price is just crazy and no reason to pay. Even when we got pizza the first time we went, the bill was over $60. That's why I dropped the rating because the value for what you get is not even close. Maybe I'm just cheap but I can get the same thing for over half that around the same quality at other places.

Overall if the prices would change I would recommend going because the staff is very nice and it's a...

My friend and I stopped by for dinner on a Friday evening. We were seated right away, albeit outside, as there were no available tables for two people inside. It wasn't a scorcher, but it was still fairly humid outside and the sun was in our eyes for half of the meal. Our server came over fairly quickly, and she was very friendly and helpful. We ordered small salads to start, a pizza each, and I got a strawberry daiquiri as well. The salads came out pretty quickly, and my caesar salad was delicious. The greens were fresh, the dressing was very balanced, and the croutons were garlicky and perfectly toasted. The daiquiri came next, and it was just okay. There was more foam in it than anything, and I spent much of the meal desperately stirring it and trying to find the actual drink. Despite the server's warning that there would be a wait for the pizzas, they arrived about 20 minutes from when we ordered, which wasn't bad at all. What was sort of bad were the pizzas. The crust was very airy but also very dry. The bottom had more flour than I've ever seen on a restaurant pizza, resulting in a sort of bitter and off-putting taste with each bite. The sauce on my margherita pizza was actually very good, and plentiful, but it could not mask the odd flavor of the crust. My friend's arugula and prosciutto pizza was even drier because, as a white pizza, it did not have any sauce it help it out. I was really hungry, so I finished most of my pizza, but I honestly didn't really enjoy it. I also barely needed my napkin because other than a small smear of sauce, my hands were bone dry. It's not that I want an oily pizza, but this seemed like an oil-less pizza. I will say there were plenty of non-pizza options on the menu, and I may return to try one of the pastas, but probably not...
