I never post reviews but my dining experience was so terrible that I had to warn others to stay away! I went for dinner on a Saturday at 6 pm with my family of four (2 adults and 2 kids). It was pretty dead for a Saturday night. I ordered the bowl with crispy fried chicken and was told that they could only do a half bowl because they were almost out of fried chicken; this was surprising because it was a Saturday night, not busy, and early. How could they already be running low on a staple like this? I then changed my order to a full bowl of the ‘lipstick on a pick’ which is advertised as the chefs pick. It came out in less than 5 minutes, way before anyone else’s meal in my party, and looked like an absolute mushy mess. It had zero flavor and tasted like overcooked rice with tomato sauce. I sent it back (this is something that I’ve never done at a restaurant) and changed my order to what I originally wanted but in the half version, ‘fitness in my moth’ and an order of the pickle chips (I was worried the half bowl wouldn’t be enough food). They agreed, but charged us a dollar to make up the difference in cost (yes, that’s right —ran my credit card once again for a dollar). While my husband was inside sending my food back and dealing with this, the rest of our food came out, but they forgot to bring my husband’s seasoned curly fries, which he had ordered with his burger. When he let them know, they brought him out cold curly fries with no seasoning and half of the portion resembled fry dust. My new meal finally came out when my entire family was just about done with their food and it was better but not very good.
End of story: save your money and time. The food is lacking proper seasoning and it’s overpriced for what you’re actually getting. The service isn’t great, which I don’t understand since it’s not busy —it’s all just really disappointing, save yourself...
Read moreGenerally an unenjoyable experience. Very sad.
Food: I saw the big juicy burgerito on photos and I wanted to try it for myself. It was very dry, unseasoned, and bland. You either bite into it and get a mouthful of egg, a mouthful of mushy fries, or a chunk of an unseasoned dry beef patty. This inconveniences me since the burgerito was bright in the center of the menu, basically a staple on the menu for customers, only for it to taste awful. Only slight positive was the phobea milkshake and slightly seasoned dirty curly fries (which was just a side, not a main course).
Service: Service was non existent. There was no host, you order at the counter and then sit down. We had one server which dropped off the food and didn't even display the basic necessary standards of food service. As he dropped this food off, he didn't even say "enjoy" or "anything I can get you?" Nothing. Additionally, he dropped off drinks later without straws, and vanished out of existence into the kitchen. Did not stop by once the entire experience to check on us such as "how's the food?" I had to hunt for straws, jungle style, and when I asked for a to-go box (this was difficult, as he was no where to be found), he dropped it down without even saying a word, not even a "here you go!" Nope, nothing. Did not even thank us for coming in as we left. No communication.
Music: Music was not enjoyable. Get some promiscuous girl, or timbaland or anything else than indie!
Atmosphere: Atmosphere was nice, I enjoyed the nearby environment, it stood out. This and the two food items were the only positive.
Conclusion: For a total of 37 dollars for the whole experience, id rather go to the Chinese hibachi buffet that is nearby, which has none of these issues. I don't mean to sound too harsh, but for the price point, id prefer better server standards, music, and less...
Read moreJust had one of the worst dining experiences of my life here. Let me clarify that I rarely (maybe 3-4 times in my entire life) have complained at a restaurant and I am kind to servers and waitstaff since I know they work hard. My husband ordered 5 burgers for our family of 5, and I heard him order correctly. They brought out 4 burgers, and the one burger was incorrect. I let the person, who was the same one who had taken our order, know it was incorrect, and he pointed to the receipt to say that's what we had ordered (cool, so you misheard and typed it in wrong - that doesn't mean it's the correct order). So, instead of apologizing for the mistake, we now feel awkward saying hey, this isn't at all what we ordered since we got attitude from the staff. When they remade the burgers (my husband went in and paid for another burger), the one came out raw. I bit into it, and it bled on my bun, despite the fact that it was supposed to be well done. So, don't come here if you're pregnant and need a well done burger or you may just end up eating raw blood. He switched with me and wouldn't let me go back in and say hey, you messed this up again, since at this point he no longer trusted the kitchen staff. I finally did when I went in and asked for a box and showed it to them, and was just told oh, I'm sorry. Original Bull City Burger downtown is fantastic, but this place is absolutely awful. Terrible service, staff that literally doesn't care if your order is good or correct, terrible food....
