William's Gourmet Kitchen — Restaurant in Durham

I used to love this place. However, after three years, I don't intend to go back there any more. The prices are in the high side ($13.00 for a burger, fries & drink for workday lunch), but the food looked and tasted great. Over the years though the service as gone down hill. Recently, I waited 30 minutes for my meal and there were only 3 other customer in the place. The cook was too busy playing around with the front-end staff instead of preparing my meal. The quality of the food I have been served is now down, as well. This last visit, my burger was so small that I could not see it when I put the bun together. In fact, I couldn't see any of the ingredients. The sandwich sliced pickles were disks, I could barely find them. I couldn't tell if there was any cheese on it at first look. The tomatoes had rotten sections on them. My fries were great though. The floors were so sticky my sandals were coming off my feet when I walked across them. I tried to clean off whatever it was stuck on the table before my food came, but I couldn't get rid of it. I had to use a napkin to cover it so things wouldn't stick. I am really disappointed, since this used to be a favorite spot for our office lunches. We often took OOT visitors here with pride. I do not plan to do that...

I normally have good experiences at this location. I will say, however, the quality/taste of the food varies by who is working that day—-especially when ordering the Mediterranean egg white sandwich and oatmeal. The French toast is always good.

The customer service is great—-especially the ladies during the early morning!

Now, what brings me to my review today is my experience earlier this week. The website needs to be updated to reflect what is charged for a meal when you get there. Based on the response from the cashier that day, this problem is known by management, but hasn’t been addressed.

As a paying customer who can spend my money anywhere, I chose this meal based on the price that was listed on the website. Had I known it would be more, I would’ve selected a different meal. I pulled up the website to show the employee, but there was no offer to charge me the rate that is listed on the website. She was very pleasant and it wasn’t her fault, but I think the store should do better.

On top of that, the omelette that I ordered and was prepared for me——was extremely dry and poorly put together. The grits were also runny. The meal was simply not...

This place is way more than just a burger and fry joint. They have a variety vegetarian options, fresh and delicious food. Breakfast is also served but honestly I feel like they should serve it all day because their hours are very limited.

The RTP crowd floods this place between 11 and 12:45pm it will be impossible to get a seat inside but if it’s warm the outdoor seating helps. After 1pm is the best to go for guaranteed seating and combo specials.

There dessert selection is decadent but they have and assortment of smoothies and yummy salads as well. It has a high price point for a diner but well worth it. If spending more than $10 for lunch is too much for you than this is not your spot.

I recently got the Santa Fe salad. It was served in a taco bowl. I substituted red onions for mushrooms in the name of fresh breath. Also the mushrooms added somewhat of meat feel to the salad.
