First time at Rack Shack tonight and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was great and the place is really nice for a bbq “shack”. The young lady at the register was very helpful and answered all of our questions, several times. Our food was prepared and brought out to us much faster then expected. Best part, service wise, was that shortly after we got our food my wife knocked my pop over, spilling all over the table and my food😄. The same young lady that took our order was over at our table helping us before we realized what was going on. She immediately took my plate of food away and said a new plate would be out shortly, which it was! Then she helped us clean up our mess. After all of that the food was really good. My son and I each had the Hobo plates which were very good, And I would recommend, especially if you have a big appetite. My wife and one of my daughters had ribs which they loved and raved about how tender they were and the bones just pulled right out. My other daughter had pulled pork and loved it. We also had fun trying all of the different sauces which were all good in there own right. This place is a must if you like good bbq. It was my first time, but certainly won’t be my last. I see some reviews complain a bit about the prices. I thought the prices were fair. As a guy who loves to smoke his own ribs and pork etc, I realize that good meet isn’t cheap and they can’t just give it away or they won’t be around long. Thanks again for the great food and excellent service!

It is a family friendly fast casual restaurant. Some items were appropriately priced and others were a little high for a fast casual strip mall joint. The adult entrees were satisfactory and sides were very good. We liked the Mac and cheese and corn bread. Fried okra was good for something different. I liked the environment for a place to bring a toddler. It is a cute restaurant inside. Kids meal was not a good value, did not include a drink, and his meat was dry. The shake did not meet expectations for price- it was fast food quality at best. Definitely not scooped ice cream or fresh mix ins. You order at the counter, fill your own drinks, get your own silverware, sauce, ect- at counter check out it suggested a 15% tip of about 8$ for our meal.... idk about that... you can adjust of course but it seems like a little much when there isn’t a significant service component and our meal for 2 adults and 1 kid was $50 for a fast casual service model. I did tip 15% but if staff are dependent on tips it is a shame. I hope staff are paid an acceptable wage without expectation of tips when there is minimal service in the business model. That tip suggestion makes me feel like I’m just being asked to subsidize your business without service. Tips are for service not business subsidies. You are asked to tip at the counter before there is any opportunity for service.

Honestly the best BBQ spot I've ever had. Ive been trying to find a spot and this... stands head and shoulders above other spots I've had. I haven't sat inside, but every time I've had the food has been near perfect. Food: Almost everything is good enough by itself without any sauce. The brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and sausage were all incredible. The jalapeño sausage was not spicey at all so no need to be scared there. The chicken wings and pulled chicken needs some sauce. The pulled chicken is within expectation but I had hoped the wings would be solid without the sauces. The Mac and cheese here is exceptional. I daydream and crave it randomly from time to time. The fries are pretty solid. I've tried both the sweet potatoes fries and the regular fries, just get the regular fries. The sweet potato fries seemed a little underwhelming by comparison. I've had the Houston hot and Kansas city hot. Both exceptional. Service: I've never sat in, but my inquiries were always promptly answered and the employees seemed nice. Atmospher: interior looks nice and is pretty clean from my visits.

My family took me to the Rack Shack BBQ for Father's Day dinner, as I had been craving BBQ, and had heard great things about this restaurant. We arrived at 5:15pm. There are about 10 tables for inside eating and 4 for outside. There were three open tables and a short ordering line. It quickly became obvious that they were swamped with online and phone orders, and had fallen behind a bit. First the food: I had Brisket and Ribs. My wife had Pulled Pork. My kids had cheeseburgers. Brisket was fabulous! Tender and flavorful. Pulled Pork was great! Tender, large helping. My wife said the cornbread was "top-notch". I have had better ribs, but these were good, just not extraordinary. Could have to do with how busy they were.... My son went crazy for the burger, which was large and properly cooked on an onion bun. Thick slice of cheddar cheese fully melted.

There are 8 or 9 sauces. All unique, all really good, from mild to ghost pepper! You pick what you want, with bottles there for eat-in customers.

The staff was slammed, yet they did not lose their attitudes or resort to anger even when people were literally yelling at them because they were behind in the kitchen. You can see the kitchen. No one slowed down. They were working as hard as they could from my vantage point. Sides were good, and great variety. Sides' helpings could be a little larger, as the prices are on the higher end. but I did not leave hungry. We are planning on going back when it is not a super-busy day, like Father's Day, and seeing if the food is as good or even better. If it is, we will...

They ran out of pulled pork at about 4pm on a Friday which was disappointing. We substituted a second brisket and were at best sated - nothing was really good enough to justify the price, that's for sure. The Memphis sauce was terrific, in my opinion though. I'll quickly list our meal/opinions: Corn bread: bottom burnt and as a result, just OK Brisket: could have used significantly more flavor, but generally good Smoked potato: ehhh...i probably wouldn't get it again We tried each sauce and the only one i liked was the Memphis. Others in my party mixed St Paul and Memphis saucers and really liked the combo. Aside from the food.... There were only 3 employees working and i could tell they were not happy about this. Actually 2 of the 3 employees were clueless; nice enough but openly complaining to the customers as if they cared. Phone was ringing consistently the entire half hour or forty five minutes i was in the establishment and the employee taking orders commented, "well if they wanted us to answer the phones they'd have more than just 3 people scheduled..." directly to the customer he was assisting, which was fairly inappropriate. All in all, definitely overpriced and underwhelming... every time I've eaten the Hittners' Rack Shack. I may give them one last try in the future, as we new some great barbeque around here. I honestly hope they can tighten things up and impress me because I'm sure they can do it. Just haven't been affected...
