I wasn't going to comment anything, but my wife convinced me to commit. We arrived near 1o'clock Sunday afternoon for lunch in the town. Early/ Brownwood has a slew of restaurants the many neighboring cities lack, so we thought we would try Italian. Prima pasta was our choice. To allow our rating discrepancy, allow me to give a play by play. Before sitting down our server Cam asked for our drinks when we haven't seated yet or opened menu. I asked what they had and ordered 2 beers and 2 waters. Beers came first, as we glanced at the menus, we ordered the caprese app and the calamari app. Bread and butter hit the table. When the caprese came, cam had to make sure we were the correct table that ordered it and that calamari was on the way. Let me preface with, anytime our first time at a new restaurant my wife and I like to explore the menu, ie. Gimme some house made sauces, let me build something custom and or let's try lots of small stuffs. We ordered the salmon picatta w/linguini (excellent). I ordered the pasta sampler with a small personal Pizza with only sauce, mozzarella and basil. Mind you cam is writing all of this down. I know cause he passed me the receipt with all of it on it. He even wrote the "bowl of Alfredo" that I ordered but not the bowl of red sauce that never came. Makes sense, if it wasn't written down it doesn't get served. So when I write this review I hope it gets served to Cam
While enjoying the apps, cam came back twice. Once to ask if I wanted a Margherita Pizza. And then the second time to ask if I wanted tomatoes. I answered yes both times cause it was easier to deal with while I'm in the middle of a conversation with my wife. When really he already WROTE MY ORDER DOWN
Food comes looks great. Cam comes with what he calls fresh napkins, when the first one on top of had red droplets of whatever sauce or smear very unsanitary.
Near the end of the meal. Cam said he was leaving, so if we could take care of the bill, but no rush. That's completely moronic to ask of anyone especially a guest paying for food to hurry up. The fact of asking someone to take care of the bill asap but take your time is both rude and unprofessional. I handed him my card. And decided if he wanted a tip he can wait for the cash. But instead I leave cash leaned under a plate, and here comes cam. Straight for the tip. Then asking me how was everything. Outside of seeming eager and needing the tip, I didn't want to respond. Where cam proceeded to ask my wife "does he think it's too expensive?" Which also is extremely rude and unprofessional. And then I tell him it's the 3 times you had to ask me about my order, WHEN YOU WROTE IT DOWN. He tells "me no one is perfect", but I'm not asking for perfection, I'm asking for a sense of decency and Profesionalism. I've opened 3 restaurants, operated 2. I've done every job from cashier to GM you name it I've done it. But I've never treated anyone with the lack luster sense of respect and professionalism that Cam has shown my wife and I. We came to enjoy the food not to be heckled about how something is too expensive. Or demanding too much when YOU WROTE THE ORDER DOWN.
Sorry prima pasta. We liked the food. We didn't like Cam and his absolutely unacceptable behavior. I apologize for tipping him. He doesn't deserve it and if he continues working there with that attitude toward patrons, you breed far worse experiences with less accepting guests. 4*...
Read moreThis place takes forever to serve your food!! They are also very rude!!! After seated at our table we waited over an hour to get food for 2 adults and 1 child ... when I got my salad the house salad dressing was nasty and when I asked for another type of salad dressing I waited for over 20 min. and still never got any salad dressing so I sent the salad back... when we finally got our food over 30 min later it was wrong... my husband ate it anyways because we had waited so long and had not had breakfast... when I told the person that I was lead to believe was the manager about all the issues he said he would give us our meal for free free... I told him I was happy to pay for my daughters meal because it was the only one not wrong... he said since this was our first time and he felt bad for our experience he would give it to us for free... I thanked him and went back to clean up my disabled daughter so we could leave. when we went to leave another person approched us to tell us we had to pay for our ticket because my husband ate the food!!! Then some very rude man came from out of the kitchen and told me we were lying that we didn't wait that long because nobody waits that long for food... he told me that it didn't matter that the food was wrong that because my husband ate we had to pay!! He said that I couldn't refuse to pay... I told him that the young man told me that I didn't have to pay and that I had offered to pay. then the rude man told the young man that he would pay for our meal... the young man still only charged me for my daughters meal... he was very kind... he is the son of the owner... I am assuming that the owner was was the rude man who was very insulting to me and the young worker... I would never go back to this establishment again!!! I get it things happen but you should still have some kind of customer service... this man was so very rude and unprofessional I was embarrassed for the son who was trying to be...
Read more1st I'd like to thank our server Zach for his patience while he was helpful not only to our table but every table he was assigned. 2nd,the portion sizes were as advertised from others that prompted us to visit here. Unfortunately, I can't say anything positive about the food outside of the garlic cheesy bread and the pasta sampler (someone else ate it). I took a bite of my daughter's grilled chicken alfredo and I see why the loved it. It tasted like what they make at home from a jar of Ragu Alfredo Sauce. The Eddy's Special is far from it and tasted as bland as the girls dish. For the $12 (grilled chicken alfredo) and the $18 (Not So Eddy's Special), I expected a better product than we were presented. I realize the cost of preparing meals has increased but that doesn't mean the quality of food (due to no seasoning prep) has to make the meal suffer. Plain grilled chicken with no type of seasoning whatsoever in addition to the sauces or vegetables or shrimp in my dish. I've worked off and on in the food industry for 15 years and I've never experienced the lack of pride the kitchen staff displayed on this visit. Most of the time I'm blown away with a meal that I'm able to recreate the dish at home from the explosion of flavors left in my mouth. As I stated earlier, it tasted like the meals my 9 and 13 year olds make as they're learning to cook. Actually I apologize to both my kids and Ragu for insulting them. I'm not going to lie about eating my entire dish, but I also forked out $20 and was not letting it go to waste or back in the kitchen. I Hope after this review that changes will be implemented for a better product or I may have to step in the kitchen to show them how it should be done as they watch the compliments flowing in about the upgrade in cooking ability. The portion sizes and our server Zach is merely the reason why you received a 4 instead of a well...
