I called today after finding a COCKROACH in my Shrimp Lo Mein and explained that I had been a loyal customer for 15 years without a previous issue of any kind. I spent $36.11 on my pick up order, which I had to throw away out of complete and utter disgust. The owner was EXTREMELY rude, stated that I should NOT have thrown it out and rather bring it in to see what TYPE of big it may have been.(does it matter what type? NO TYPE should be in it) I explained I had pictures of it and that they were already closed when i tried to call, and couldnt immediately return it. He made the assumption that it possibly came from MY HOME??!! Terrible customer service. I have NEVER in my life lived with or had bugs, in fact- I have a serious phobia of all insects. I cannot eat Chinese food of any kind for a long time after this. He did not appreciate the business I have given him for these 15 years, even though they do not deliver at all and I've moved out of the area, and still travel for their food. He did not offer me a refund or admit there is an infestation. I will be calling the board of health. Do...
Read moreThe Lucky should be removed. I've been going to this place for about 45yrs. They were called Twin Joy. The food used to be great. Now maybe due to the pandemic or just cutting corners, I'm not sure; the food is not even close to what it once was. 30 yrs. ago every Thursday night, I would order up $40.00 worth. Last night over $100.00. Forget it. I could really complain, but I'll chalk it up. I miss Hung Gung Gardens, Pell Street N.Y.C. and Silver Palace N.Y.C. Good friends of my Family and top notch food. Oh lucky Golden East roast pork w sesame sauce definitely was either dog or cat, unbelievable. Also when I used to order General Tso's chicken it was crispy with red and green peppers oh and onions, juicy etc.. Id go feed a homeless person, but I wouldn't want to break their heart. Cutting corners to break even never works. I'll cook it myself. Very unhappy. Anne and Win would have a sit down. It's really a pity , because I used to go to Chinatown in the late 1960's , won't go their anymore either. A pity this generation doesn't know Good...
Read moreThis is the best Chinese restaurant in East Brunswick and just in this area. I have been coming here since a child and they treat me and my family like family. Besides the fact that owner is always attentive and takes the time to know every customer on a personal level, the food is cheap and so good. And just to note, every family owned restaurant has the right to raise prices especially when grocery prices have raised. The food is still affordable compared to anywhere in the area. They reopened after a kitchen fire and the food is just as consistent as it was in the past. Seriously confused why they don't have a full five stars, if you like Chinese food, a great staff and are okay with a normal hometown Chinese restaurant atmosphere then this is the place for you. Genuinely, just...
