Heard this place was supposed to be good and I love brick oven pizza, so we tried it. My friends and I went here to order pizzas for a ufc fight night in advance. We paid in advance for this to be delivered at 9 pm, so we could go shopping for some other things before we went home. I was promised this would be delivered on time and everything would be right. Fast forward three hours later, When the delivery was not on time I first waited 20 mins to call to ask where my order was. I was immediately told it was on its way and hung up on. I was upset that we paid over $100 for pizzas and were promised they would be delivered on time
40 mins later and still no pizzas. I called back a second time. I asked to speak to a manager which I was told none was available, what can I do for you. I explained that I came in hours ago to place an order to be delivered and it’s an hr late. I was put on hold for almost 3 mins before the same nasty employee got back on the phone, saying. It’s in the delivery car now, we are very busy on saturdays so your just going to have to deal with it. I was again hung up on after he said this.
35 mins later the delivery guy shows up, looking like a disgusting disheveled drug addict. He goes sorry I was pulled over by the police and held me there while my vehicle was searched. I said did you think to even call me to let me know my delivery was going to be late. My phone number is on the receipt. The driver agains starts blaming the police.
I was so upset, I didn’t even think to check my order before he left. I would have never given him a tip if I hadn’t already left $15 with the counter person when they were ordered.
As soon as my friends started to open the pizzas, they were all cold and appeared to have fallen over in transport. Out of the 6 pizzas ordered two were also wrong and were not what we ordered. The pizza was far from good as well and completely a waste of our money.
I will never step foot in this place again and I would suggest you get your pizzas else where. They truly do not care about customer service and the pizza...
Read moreI was an out of towner. So I looked online to see where to get a good pie. Saw this restaurant. Called, asked for recommendations of their most ordered pie. They stated the Margarita. So I got that in a large and plain in a small. When it got to me my pizza looked horrible. I looked like it was slidding all over the place in the back of the car. The cheese was half off the pie and it was stuck to the sides and top. The crust was also burned, but then the pie didn't really taste well done. So it seemed it was cooked outside in. So I called and let the restaurant know and they required me to take a picture of the pies and text it to, I guess he is the owner, Frank, his phone. So I said that's fine. He tried to assure me that he wasn't requesting it because he didn't believe me. (That didn't matter) Then I called back and asked if he was going to give me a discount for the incovenience. He got irritated and said, NO, I am making you 2 new pies. I said, ok. Then he goes on to say, and I am letting you keep the 2 you already have. So you will have 4 pies for the price of 2. I stated to him that I did NOT want the other 2 that were messed up. He said, why? They are still edible. I stated to him that he should have offered a dicsount. I then aasked for his name and he hung up on me. After that I couldn't even enjoy the meal. On the other hand my family said it was good. I will NEVER order from here again while in New Jersey and would NEVER send anyone here. The pizza may have been good, but customer service...
Read moreWhat is it that separates good pizza from truly GREAT pizza? That's what makes pizza such an alluring thing, that it can't easily be distilled into a simple recipe for success.
This pizza was so good the first time, I could tell from the smell coming from the box, that it was a winner. It was so good, that I didn't post a review right away. I went back again, to dine in, and again, for take out, to see if it was a fluke, or consistent.
After careful research (and an expanding waistline), I can report that this place is the best I've had in the central NJ area. It all begins with the crust. There's some special je ne sais quois that elevates some pizza crusts above the rest, and this pizza has it. It's bubbly, and crisp, and chewy, and tangy and ... It makes the pie. The sauce is thick, yet not chunky, with a perfect balance of tomato tang, spices, garlic, and oil but not grease. A truly great pizza is one that is so good, that toppings take away from it, and after the first couple of pies, now I just get 'em plain!
I'm a little skeptical of five star reviews. To me, that's a special place. If I could be more accurate, I'd give this place 4.5 stars - it's truly the best I've had in NJ - not my best ever, but still very high praise.
It's unassumingly tucked away in a small strip mall, and doesn't really call attention to itself and more than any other local pizza place in a strip mall. Don't go by appearances ... Go...
