Wasn't impressed with this diner that much. Had a waiter who had a real attitude problem. Made is seem like we were an inconvenience to his night. We ordered drinks, he literally threw the straws on our table. One of the cups of water they brought us was broken around the rim so we asked for another and he put it down really hard when he came back. Not to mention when our food came, one of the desserts was on a chipped, sharp plate as well. Food wise, it was so so. 3 on our party had already eaten so they only ordered desserts. The hot food was good, got a burger and onion rings for one meal and a Popeye salad with shrimp for the other. Burger was bigger than I expected, cooked to order and the onion rings were crispy. Shrimp in the salad was big and well seasoned. The desserts on the other hand weren't as satisfying. We got the apple pie milkshake, it was very thin and lacking flavor. We watched them make it by putting a whole piece of pie in the blender cup then topped with ice cream. They didn't really stir it after blending so the one served to us was 90% thin ice cream, no real apple pieces and we then watched the waiter (not ours) walk off eating the other half. When we asked our waiter which cheesecakes he'd recommend between the regular, strawberry or pumpkin, he simply said he doesn't eat that and has no idea. We asked what one of the cakes in the display was and he told us almond cake so we ordered that. He came back to tell us it was in fact carrot cake........ big difference. Wr got the strawberry short cake instead. The filing was bland and jelly like. Very disappointing. The pumpkin cheesecake wasn't mixed right prior to baking so some areas were super pumpkin concentrated and others were plain cheesecake. And like the other desserts, not the best flavoring. Hot food was really great but desserts and staff attitude were...
Read moreWorst experience I have had at a diner. I walked in with two of my friends to the diner and was seated with some strange looks. When we sat down I was greeted with a very polite woman who took our order (Sorry I don't remember your name) Someone from the staff comes to give our table an extra place-mat with utensils while he was putting it down on the table he gave me the nastiest look in the world. I ignored it at first because I thought he could have had a bad day. While I'm talking with my friends I notice that they are giving very nasty looks to me and the person next to me. This was truly uncalled for. On top of that I was given a salad with what looked like rotten tomatoes. When we finally were able to place our order I got the fried chicken because I thought "There is no possible way they can mess this up" and oh ever so shockingly I was given Onion rings that tasted like they were fried about 2 weeks ago and reheated today or they were pulled out of the trash. and the fried chicken was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted in my life
Will not recommend to anyone and will highly recommend going somewhere else.

Read moreI’ve always driven past the East Hanover Diner, and it always caught my eye but I never stopped in to try it but I now realize I have been missing out! Today was my first time ever ordering here but it will surely not be my last. My coworkers and I placed an order for pickup & I am very pleased with the service and food. I didn’t catch the name of the woman I spoke to when placing our order, however she was so sweet and accommodating. It’s refreshing to call in to a restaurant during peak hours of operation and be greeted and treated with such positivity, especially during times like those present where people seem to be so angry and short with others. It sets the tone when you are immediately given superb customer service even over the phone. My coworker picked up the meal and the woman I spoke to was so attentive and immediately greeted her. We all enjoyed our food and the service made it better.
Thank you & I wish this business all the success and...
