It was my first time visiting this pizzeria with my girlfriend. We ordered a margherita pizza with pepperoni on half of the pie and a bottle of seltzer. The price of their margherita pizza is 21.95, half-pie toppings are priced at 1.50 and the drink is 2.50. The total before tax should be 25.95. The total after tax should be 27.67 being the tax percentage is approximately 6.6%.
I paid with my credit card and was charged 32.38 before giving them tip. How does this math make sense? How can I be charged 4.71 for using a credit card? That is impossible. That is approximately 17% of the total after tax. I tried explaining to the owner that the math doesn't make sense and that they are charging more for the half-pie toppings than advertised. (I also verified the total price for online orders. Simply remove the convenience fee online to see the cash price.)
He and the female cashier tried to defend themselves and ended up blaming the cash register computer for doing the math for them. He offered to return my 6 dollar tip initially, but I wasn't disputing my tip amount.
Even though the pizza was great, they lost our business. They made it seem like I couldn't understand basic arithmetic, yet I have a PhD in mathematics. Please be aware of any suspicious charges and always check...
Read moreUpdate 4/2024: It appears this place has changed owners? management? several times over the past year or so. I've wondered how they stay open so consistently the entire time. That said, we continue to enjoy the food but it makes it a little challenging to make specific recommendations as things ever so slightly shift. Our current favorites are the "Olivia" chopped salad which is great and we just tried the "Brooklyn" style (sauce on top of cheese) pizza and it was like a round style "grandma's" pie, delicious! As much as I believe in "embracing the change", I hope the current owners/management have a run at some success and stability.
Previous review 2022: When ordering I intentionally ask them to make the crust thin because when they do it is delicious! Also have enjoyed their meatball or chicken parm sandwiches (meatball recipes are pretty subjective IMO but my wife raves) and we are just starting to branch out and try some of their pasta and other entrees. Really becoming our local go to as they are usually fast and the quality has been good. I think if they started engaging with their customers a bit more they could really kick up their...
Read moreFirst time here today, and the owner went above and beyond to get to know me and we shared experiences in the food business. I ordered two paninis the Lazio Special Panini and the Grill Veggie Panini and they were both delicious. Fresh tasty and filling, thin sliced eggplants and perfect panini bread! He also gave me a slice of margherita to try while I waited and you really taste the quality in their ingredients, great sauce, fresh mozz, and perfect thin crust. I ordered a couple empanadas too because I can’t resist. Super sweet and genuine owner who cares about that they do. We’re super picky about our pizza and it really really was good.
Everything was so delicious - We can’t wait to come back for more! Thank you so...
