BROWN OWL CAFE — Restaurant in East Los Angeles

REALLY want to like this place because I love supporting small coffee business especially in places like East LA. It's a great spot, you can sit and chill and I believe they have WiFi.

But the drinks are overpriced and so is the food. It's very mediocre food at that too. And the drinks....l am not a coffee snob but this is some of the worst coffee l've had. Burnt espresso water! I've ordered many different drinks from iced lattes, hot lattes, americanos and cappuccinos. Their barista CANNOT make any of these drinks even if their life depended on it.

I beg you to teach your baristas what a latte and cappuccinos are. It's really the most basic of coffee orders. The last time I went, my lattes looked like a cup of coffee, no frothy milk or foam literally just nasty burnt coffee water.

You have a NICE espresso machine! I believe you could make good coffee if you go back to the basics, dial it in correctly, don't burn the milk etc etc I wish you all the best in this journey. It's hard to make it in the coffee world. You won't get far unless you teach your baristas how to make a good cup of coffee.

Everything about this place is great. The customer service is great. I felt welcomed by the staff, the music, the WiFi, and the food. To add on more to the atmosphere, the coffee shop is owl themed which I personally think it’s unique and stands out from other coffee places.
