Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in East Lyme

Been coming to Niantic for 30 years. Dairy Queen WAS always quality back two years ago. Now, the quality is not there. I truly believe the formula was changed and the owner is skimping on ingredients.The ice cream seems like less cream and more ice. You can notice the water In the sides of the cup, really. This is not one visit. I went three visits with same results.

They also will not participate in the blizzard upside down challenge. This just affirms my opinion. It's sad because the long lines and raised prices are evidence that the location is making tons of money and not maintaining the quality that Dairy Queen represents. There should be a quality control division that the overhead company has to overview the locations.

There are better quality ice cream shops in town with similar prices.

I had my first Diary Queen ice cream at the Niantic branch, the heath cup-achino - it had caramel, a chocolate fudge and whippy ice cream. (I can’t remember the exact name. I will definitely have it again and take a photo next time!) It was a sundae. Huge portions. I shared mine with my other half. There was a long queue as everyone was there after the Memorial Parade. I didn’t mind waiting. There’s lots of car parking space outside. It was a take away. The only thing I was sad about was there was no coffee ice cream on the menu. I get that this place is for children, the menu was huge. You don’t want children bouncing off the walls, but adults love...

What can I say... Its Dairy Queen in a quaint little beach community - Niantic, CT.

This is one of those ice Cream Only DQ's and Ice Cream they do. Every Dairy Queen I drive by seems to have a line and this one was no exception...

I ordered the Oreo Blizzard and boy was it good! My mother-in-law had a cup of soft serve Vanilla with that imitation Strawberry sauce on it which she quite enjoyed as well.

Nothing spells summer better than Ice Cream. Sorry for no pictures this time... It was hot, I was hungry and the Ice Cream wasn't as fast as my appetite......
