METAL STAPLES IN MY FOOD!. I was treated very badly by this restaurant. I am someone who worked as a waitress for many years while paying my way through college so I love going to restaurants and enjoying experiences and leaving big tips. I entered expecting a good reception, I love mexican people and so far, those I know love me. I asked the blonde tattooed waitress 'Joanne' (by the receipt) if they specialized in the molcajete and if it could be made for one person. She said yes, and yes. The mexican man at the next table made eye contact with me because he knew that was a lie, and at $34 I knew it was too, but I was not worried about the price. I just wanted a good experience. I let it pass and told her I'd take the lengua (my favorite). The atmosphere was nice, everything seemed nice, until.... they brought one tiny serving of beans and rice, smaller than I have ever seen, but actually, it seemed okay to me bc I am just one person. I am used to much bigger servings of beans and rice but I probably didn't need more. Then they brought the giant molten bowl of lengua. GIANT. could serve 6 people. I expected that, despite her lying I was prepared to over order and still leave a good tip. I like left overs. After i ate i asked for a 'to go' package. I asked her for beans and rice to go with it. I should be owed some beans and rice and even tortillas since I only had the dab of beans and rice they gave and I am paying for a family. She then charged me an extra $6 for more beans and rice instead of including that. When I asked about it she raised her voice and very publicly threw open the menu as if I was disputing the cost of the molcajete. I was not disputing that, only asking about the extra charge of beans and rice. She was so hostile that I left no tip, which I never ever do. They also never gave me the corn tortillas i asked for, they did bring flour tortillas. When i got home and reheated my leftovers, i found metal staples in my food!!! Even though I just moved nearby and really wanted this to be my new favorite spot. It is clear that I am not welcome. I would not recommend this place. I thought about talking directly to the manager but I was there on a friday and it was too busy and I work too much to worry about these kinds of things. Just beware. It is not a good...
Read moreDiscovering Los Molcajetes in Naples was like finding a hidden treasure. This vibrant restaurant not only captures the essence of authentic Mexican cuisine but elevates it to an extraordinary level. The star of the show? Their Birria tacos – a dish so divine, it's hard to put into words.
From the first bite, it's clear that these aren't just any tacos. The Birria, slow-cooked to perfection, offers a melody of flavors that dance on the palate. Juicy, tender, and richly seasoned, the meat is encased in a lightly crisped tortilla, creating a perfect balance of textures. Topped with fresh cilantro and onion, each taco is a little piece of heaven.
But the culinary delights don't stop there. Each dish I tried was a testament to the chef's expertise and passion for Mexican cuisine. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are bold and authentic, and the presentation is delightful.
The ambiance of Los Molcajetes adds to the dining experience. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the cheerful decor, sets the perfect stage for a memorable meal. The staff, always friendly and attentive, ensures that every visit is special.
Whether you're a local or just passing through Naples, Los Molcajetes is a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional Mexican dining experience. The Birria tacos alone are worth the trip, but it's the overall quality and charm of the restaurant that will keep you coming...
Read moreI have to lower my original Rating & Review. It seems too me that this location has been going downhill in Quality & Service. Previously I raved about Molcajetes menu & offerings! After 4 recent visits, the Taco's have all been very very dry! I'm a Chef & I know when meats are not fresh or have been saved from the previous nights service! This was the case this afternoon. The Pastor taco meat was super dry, burnt crispy, crunchy, black, dry & had chunks of fat in the barbacoa taco! In my humble opinion, You could do better for your money! Spend your mo ey in a place that has fresh meats, fresh chips, fresh everything! The salsa was too chunky with no consideration in using the cores of the tomatoes! I pulled out many cores! The Horchata (rice milk drink) was and is always has been the highlight of our visit! I don't mean to bash a local business. But this is my criticism & my opinion of my visits. If you are in the modd for tacos you could do well to spend your money at a few other establishments that have a sharp eye for quality in the produce & meats they prepare & sell. Now officially off my list of the best tacos in Naples Florida. Think about 7 Market among other incredible taco & Mexican food proveyors! Sincerely, A long time customer that has just now made his last trip to...
