Let me preface this review by saying that my husband and I have been coming here for lunch for almost a year. We told friends/family about this place and brought them here to taste the food and support a local business. But today, after the encounter I had with the owner and chef, I will not be returning. We sat down for lunch at noon like we’d be done several times before. At 12:45 I noticed our food still wasn’t out and no one had been by to check on us so I popped my head around the corner to inquire about the status of our food as I had a meeting I needed to get to. Again we have been here many times before and the food usually comes out in 15/20min. The owner proceeded to cop an attitude by telling me that this is how long his food takes because everything js made to order. I’m aware the food is made to order, it’s why we return. But to tell me that his food takes 45min without offering any apology or saying sorry we’re short staffed. We proceeded to get into an argument about how long his food takes to prepare and then he told me he wasn’t going to “make my food”. This implies that my food wasn’t even made, after sitting there for 45min. I wanted to support this local business owner but judging by the way he responds to 1 star reviews, he doesn’t need our business. I would skip this place to not have to deal with this guys arrogant attitude. Wait for dinner service at 21 spices. It’s...
Read moreRecently I was introduced to this microcosm of flavor and it wasn’t a moment too soon. The name of the restaurant is what you will be saying once you’ve tasted their delicious works of culinary art. My favorite order is Cauliflower Pakora (a delightfully crispy batter around well textured cauliflower served with flavorful chutneys), Lamb vindaloo (tender tasty lamb lacking in the gamy taste lamb can quite often have paired with a scrumptious hot and sour sauce which synergies with the basmati rice), and a mango lassi (a yogurt based mango drink which is sweet refreshing and like a healthier version of a milkshake with more depth of flavor than just sugar). If you are in the area I highly recommend a visit. The staff are all welcoming and kind, the atmosphere is charmingly modern yet familiar with the whole space layered by a smooth set of vocals from the delightful music played. If you enjoy good food, come! If you enjoy adventurous food without worry, come! If you want to take some friends to a nice spot and order their food extra spicy to have a laugh at their expense, come! You will not be...
Read moreThe BEST Indian food in Nepales. We ordered 3 different curries (Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Saag and Mother's Curry with Lamb) and all were awesome. Chef D was a breath of fresh air to talk to and was so attentive. The food was so tasty and our kids loved their food as well (we specified to the chef that our kids don't eat spicy food and it was catered to their spice level.) All curries had different taste so you don't feel like you are eating the same bland curry. This was our first time at this restaurant and we will be back whenever we are in Nepales. The prices are affordable and you don't feel like you are being scammed because Nepales is such a touristy place and where all the restaurants are overpriced. This restaurant is not too far from the Nepales pier and a MUST visit for all Indian food lovers or to fall in love with Indian food.
It takes a genuine resurant and food to get a good review out of me. I don't do this for a living nor I am being...
