Halal Five Star Pizza & Fried Chicken — Restaurant in East Orange

Store isn't much different and improved from previous establishment. The food is prepared behind the pizza ovens unlike before where you could see how it's prepared and if it's handled cleanly and properly. The menu looks a bit different than previous establishment and offers a wider variety of pizza and hot sandwiches. Would have been nice if they offered cold cuts and cold sandwiches though. The bacon cheeseburger was pretty good but fries and nuggets were very basic, plain, frozen fries with no real taste to it. The tables and chairs offer sufficient seating for anyone wanting to dine-in, however most people probably don't. I'd like to see it succeed and survive but perhaps some menu items could be improved or switched out for seasoned fries like other restaurants and perhaps offer real/fresh nuggets like...

Not worth the money that was paid. The meat was barely enough to fill the bottom of the roll (long roll). The remainder was filled with 3 small slices of tomato and the rest was filled with lots of lettuce. This is as far from a "Philly" cheesesteak as you can get. Maybe someone needs to go to Philly and observe how it's done!!! Please...

I had lunch today in this clean and bright eatery. The owner was very friendly and courteous. We ordered and the food came quickly. I got the salad with grilled chicken and it was fresh and crispy.
