In chains like these, I feel ratings only really matter on how they handle things when they go wrong.
I was using the app, gave my code at the drive through, got pushed along, then got called at to wait, as they caught that one of my items wasn't available. Which happens very occasionally. Is fine. They offered to replace it with something. I asked if they could just remove that item from the order. They said yes. When I got to the window, they gave me my receipt. But when I made it to the final window, there seemed to be a mixup on what they COULD do. The manage had just gone on break, they couldn't refund without her. There was a line of cars, I could tell the employees were flustered, and this has happened to me before - I could just cancel on the app. I was exhausted; I don't remember what we agreed to, but I figured all was fine, and left*. But, because they had already accepted / started prepping the order, I couldn't actually cancel the order.
I'm giving the 5 stars because it took a good 20 or so minutes for me to drive back, drove straight to the window and explained the situation. The girl remembered me and got the manager from break who already had my refund down to change in hand ready; she apologized about the mixup and was confused why I had driven away. Honestly, me, too. Exhausted; just wanted to get something to eat; so on. Everyone besides the manager looked like a teenager; I frequent this place and some of them looked new. And that happens - you get kids, you get new blood, and sometimes everything goes WRONG, and it's everyone's fault - someone says they can do something they don't realize they can't, you as the customer *go into idiot mode, and the app is out to get you personally. Despite it all and some fluster, they were consistently respectful and patient with me. Again, they had a remedy to the situation ready for when / if I came back. These days, I would not and do not blame McDonald's workers at any pay grade for not being 100% all smiles or to put up with stupid. Since we've moved here, I've noticed Peoria fast-food chains of every stripe are often VERY curt and bare minimum, and I don't really mind as long as it's not outright rude. But in situations like these, keeping a level head and doing your best is hard, and everyone there deserved the recognition. *They were kind, reasonably apologetic, the manager was friendly, and no one made me feel like the dummy I was. I expected to be told they couldn't do anything for me, and they instead made it as painless and equitable as possible. Was in and out in less than a minute. That's 5/5 service....
Read moreThe service at this restaurant is HORRIBLE! To start the manager that was on shift was an older white woman who was disturbingly disrespectful not only to her staff but to customers as well. I ordered my food at 12:37 pm today and did not receive it to 1:00. At 12:50 when I went to the counter to ask when my food would be ready she was already going back and forth with one of her employees about her not moving fast enough and then she PHYSICALLY pushed ( yes as in put her hands on) the young lady out the way and when the employee told her she didn’t have to do her that way she told her to go home. After all that she looked at my receipt to see which order was mines on the board but she didn’t see it because she cleared all the orders off for the front counter as if she had done them already so I was waiting on my order because basically she forgot as most elderly people tend to do. And AFTER that, she proceeded to lock the doors so that people cannot come in including door dashers because she didn’t want to be bothered with people coming inside 🤦🏾♀️ Ohh and I forgot to mention how rude she was to a DoorDash lady that came in for 2 orders which she claim that she didn’t have but the GAG is she didn’t know how to...
Read moreMy husband asks me if we want to go into McDonald's to eat for once since we always go thru drive thru. I said probably not because the inside is never open, he said no it should be all of them are open now because cobid restrictions have been lifted and every restaurant is open inside besides McDonald's. You know it's sad that I called it and it's every single McDonalds in the Illinois area. Went to Florida a couple weeks ago and had the best McDonald's experience I've had in over 5 years. Food and service was great. I am 30 years old and literally have Been eating McDonald's since I was a baby... It has def gone down hill so bad that I don't even want to spend a penny anymore at McDonald's. Yal need help!!!! And open the inside so people can sit down and enjoy yals food and socialize but I guess McDonald's doesn't want that! . June 29 2024. Came and tried this McDonalds again waited in drive thru at the window for our food for 10 mins thought it was for fresh fries or chicken nuggets. But not at all quite honestly idk why we waited in line for 10 mins because the fries were ice cold and nasty and chicken nuggets were cold. So needless to say won't be coming back ever again...
