Went to Aman Indian Bistro in Phoenixville today in the after noon with my wife. When placing the order for appetizers/snacks like Aalu tikki and papari chat , I was told that I need to compulsorily place order for main courses or buffet also to get these appetizers and appetizers alone will not be served as a policy of the restaurant. I told them that I am here only for appetizers and my and my wife’s age doesn’t justify buffet. I requested for the Manager and Mr June the Manager repeated that same thing. He said that the cost of running the restaurant cannot be met by entertaining these kind of orders or customers and the restaurant does not break even with it. On my telling him that no such information is available on the website and had I known this policy of the restaurant thru website or thru other source, would not have come. Mr June replied that everything can not be put on the website and it is the discretion of the management to entertain or not to entertain such orders. He further gave very flimsy excuses of break even. Ultimately he agreed to serve us appetizers with a caution that next time if we plan to come then we shall place order for main courses/ buffets also in order to be acceptable at the restaurant. I am 72 and my wife 71 and can eat very little. I fail to understand and appreciate the kind of policy which this restaurant is adopting unilaterally. Writing this because any body planning visiting this place...
Read moreMy husband and I have gotten take out from here and have also dined in. The taste is the same and food is delicious! I usually don’t like food that overpowers with a lot of unnecessary spices, but Aman’s does a great job in the balance.
I would advise a lot of people to be patient with them, it’s a HARD working family, that runs around here to put food on your plates. Since COVID hit, they are trying the best they can due, especially with the shortage of workers.
Also, I read one comment, stating that Briyani shouldn’t be white. That is incorrect, Briyani that is FRESH and authentic has a lot of white rice, mixed with colored rice in it. The reason you are used to eating fully drenched colored rice is because you got quick food. Amans definitely takes their pride in their Briyani, I personally request it with bone in and not boneless.
Finally, be kind to them, I have seen a lot of customers rude. Restaurants are having a hard time with labor, so give people some mental breaks and leave the rudeness at home. Thanks for always providing delicious meals to...
Read moreFood was meh, service was awkward. Went for the buffet. Heard good things.
Love indian food but the offerings were mediocre at best, frankly the rice might have been the best part. No beverages besides tepid water were offered.
I went to use the bathroom after eating a bit and the toilet was near overflowing with feces. I'm not even exaggerating. Unusable. I was actually afraid to touch anything including the door knob to escape. And it wasn't JUST in the toilet it was splattered all over.
The amount of excrement was so excessive there is no way it came from one person, and there is no way the staff couldn't have known. It was clean besides that.
Needless to say I completely lost my appetite and still needed to use the bathroom. So I sat in sullen silence while my partner finished her meal.
Absolutely the most disturbing experience I've had eating anywhere.
Luckily I didn't get sick.
Maybe try it if you're feeling courageous but check the bathroom first.
Without the bathroom issue I'd give them MAYBE 3 star. But with it ZERO is more...
