American Deli — Restaurant in East Point

Summary: I go to American deli a lot but not at this location. I usually go to the one on Old National which will give you a better experience. I am going to speak on customer service, price, food, presentation, and cleanliness.

Food: the food at this location isn’t cooked right at all. The food tasted bland and the cooks were to busy talking and not working. I had the chicken philly and it was not cooked right and they had fries in the sandwich. The wings weren’t cooked right either and way to hard. Before my order arrived, I asked the lady to put paper on the styrofoam so that the heat won’t cook through my food, and behold, the heat cooked through my food and I had to throw away most of the fries. I will speak on more on the customer service aspect later. Rating 1.

Cleanliness: it’s unsanitary for the cashiers( two asian ladies) to touch the inside of the styrofoam without washing their hands after they just got done touching money. The cooks kept wiping their hands on their shirts which was also unsanitary. I had to ask the asian lady to make sure they washed their hands again and she ended up getting an attitude. Rating 1

Presentation: when you walk into the store, it looks like any other American Deli, so nothing much to say there. Also the food is presented the same way that the other American Deli’s present your meal as, so nothing new there. Rating 4.

Price: The price is the same at all American Deli’s. However I do expect the food that I paid for to have a quality taste. Rating 4.

Customer service: if I could give their customer service a 0; I would. The asian ladies we’re unfriendly and acted like the customers were going to rob the place. One asian lady kept calling the Hispanic cook to the front to be next to her when a customer placed an order. I thought that was ridiculous. Then I asked the lady to make sure that paper is put down on the styrofoam foam so that my food doesn’t taste like styrofoam and for health reasons (you can read more about styrofoam safety). Not only did the cook not put paper on the styrofoam, but when I asked the cashier about it, she decided to argue with me at the front counter. Very unprofessional and I had to let her know, if she had active listening skills, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Overall: I like American Deli, but I won’t be going back to this location and would recommend that no one else go to this...

This food was disgusting. We decided not to dine in at a real restaurant because we knew it’ll be super busy.

So we settled for this place. Omg disgusting. Idk what they call themselves doing with that wing sauce for the hot wings but they got like a lil sweet to it like . Like they put something in it other than butter in it. I can’t explain the taste it wasn’t like the honey hot wings you can tell they were suppose to be hot wings they just I guess thought they did something special to the sauce. The friewe to brsogg with no seasoning , And the chicken Philly! Omg like the meat is horrible. I literally had to call them and ask if it was ground chicken!! like what did yal do to the chicken breast. I’m used to either it being true Philly chicken where the meat is sliced very thin similar to the Philly steak meat at other restaurants like Charley’s at the mall. Or it’ll be regular chicken breast sliced in to small pieces similar Penn Station. WELL this chicken (if it was chicken) was literally grounded like hamburger meat/ground beef I promise . I couldn’t believe it. I was so scared to eat it . I even called them to ask them what did they do to the meat. Lol all and all I threw that ish away. My poor husband went all the way to east point to get me that food because it’s Mother’s Day, I didn’t feel like cooking but didn’t feel like dinning in any where nether. I didn’t want him to have to go back.

Lastly when I asked to speak to the manager , honestly I already had my mind set on not going back up there so I was only trying to give her feedback with out leaving a bad google review , BUT she refused to get on the phone. Weird. So yea....

No star. If it did not require to put one. I will not be returning to that location. The service got worse and ghetto. Three to four people stood at the counter, an over crowding when my order was made. They gave me the wrong order. I did not like the food. While ordering, I asked the person who entered my order if they had original BBQ sauce, because on the sign one of the workers pointed out to that was taped down, there was Sweet BBQ sauce and another kind of BBQ sauce. She said they did have original BBQ sauce. I asked if with the meal, if I can get two flavors, she said I could. I ordered the original BBQ sauce flavor for my chicken wings, with another flavor. When I got the order the wings were only BBQ wings, Sweet BBQ wings. I mentioned that I did not see the Lemon Pepper wings that I ordered. The person who gave me the order pointed in the food carton and said that she saw lemon pepper sprinkles on the chicken wings. That was few to no sprinkles. I said that is not what I ordered, for Lemon Pepper sprinkles to be on top of the BBQ sauce, that I ordered two flavors, separate. She mentioned that since it was a six piece, that the order would not come in two flavors. Although before ordering, I asked and was told that it would. The Sweet BBQ sauce is not what I ordered, made the food, dinner unenjoyable. Would've requested to be refunded, however had already left the restaurant with the meal.
