Listen I know this place is not one of those hot spots where it's on a popping but it did me just fine. My bestie was in town and wanted to go for some drinks. Initially we were going to the U-Bar. The line was out the door and it's over rated anyway. I chose The Tavern. It was virtually empty however there were a few couples in there all booed up. It was nice and subdued however they did have some music going in the place. We ordered these frozen drinks and quite frankly we were happy to be out of the house for a change. Yes they could improve on a few things but the drinks and the food did me justice. I have never gotten food so quickly. The wings were good and crispy and the fries are fresh cut fries. Who does that anymore? Nobody. I liked this spot and will definitely return but it doesn't take much to make me happy. This spot is definitely for the low key types.

I've eaten here a few times with pretty much sub-par service each time, but this time has cemented the fact that I will not be returning and encouraging others not to visit as well. Firstly, it's not a very organized establishment. Sometimes, if the food and/or drinks are good enough that can be overlooked a bit. Secondly, the drinks are VERY WEAK and pre-mixed. If you are expecting to feel like you have had even one drink after having several, this is not the place. A $26 pitcher left us (just 2) with nothing but a brain freeze and sugar headache. The establishment was very unkempt. Today the table we sat under had an active leak. The bathroom was extremely disgusting. Stomach turning. I'll save sharing pictures (let's just say presents were left there). Save yourself and make your drinks at home or drive closer to the city.

I came to this location to have lunch with my friend. They recently changed half of the location to a cigar lounge and the other side stayed a bar. The service is slow. There were only two people working and the waitress/bar tender was horrible. I had to go up to the bar and ask for my bill and it still took about twenty minutes to get the bill and my Togo order! The bathroom on the bar side didn’t have any tissue. I told the waitress/bartender and she told me to go on the cigar lounge side and use the restroom! I thought that was lazy of her; I’m sure she could have looked for some tissue but anyways the wings was the only thing that was good about this place!

I have eaten here for years, but now I am going to seriously stop due to the mediocre service and inconsistency with food quality. For one, I have never gotten my wings from here in a timely manner; I literally have to wait 45+ every single time despite calling ahead. Why should a ten piece wing take so long? If thats the case I can go to American deli across the street and pay HALF of the price they charge and get a drink as well .

Let's talk about the wings though! The Tavern/J R Crickets have distinct tasting wings, nice size and nice texture. Well here, you have about a 1/2 chance of getting dry, over cooked wings. This has been my experience on multiple occasions and I ALWAYS give them the benefit of doubt when I consider ordering again, plus it is a black owned business so I try to have a little more leniency. Im going to stop that because the owner in my opinion, is VERY lackadaisical. I always thought he was a manager who was just there! I have never seen him act with an urgency to have food cooked with high quality nor come out in a timely manner. He is never apologetic and always gives excuses for his cooks and his less than standard service. How in the hell do you continuously raise your prices but not the quality of your food? The have a to go fee and credit card fee making a 10 piece wing with no drink about $16 after tax, this is UNACCEPTABLE.

I called the other day to report the extreme dryness in my 10 piece mild wings only to never get an answer after 11:45 on a Saturday night.I called the next morning and got a hold of a manager who took my information and supposedly relayed the message to the owner. This did not happen. I called two days later and spoke to the owner only to then realize that the same man I always see is the actual owner who was present the night that I ordered my most recent order. These wings took 50 minutes to be cooked and as I sat in the parking lot looking at him through the door (it was open), he sat next to my sister as she waited on our order. He should have been helping or some! Fast forward, I tell him that I never received a call but furthermore, the wings were extremely dry and too crunchy. I expect their wings to be wet enough and juicy, not brittle tasting. He said he wasn't there that night (obviously he was) and I told him I saw him from my car. He immediately became defensive, especially after I pointed out the increase in prices and basic food. He never addressed the excessive wait time and blamed me for the taste of my food. He stated that I should not order mild wings and expect there to be enough sauce and that I needed to order hotter wings to get more sauce. In my 22 years of life and living in ATLANTA I have NEVER heard such blasphemy 😫. So, I need to to order spicier wings just for there to be enough sauce? First of all I don't even like HOT wings and neither should I have to ask for "wet" wings just to get enough sauce because then they would be drowned in sauce and ion like that. Like geeesh take some accountability and maybe your business would be more effective. I refuse to keep wasting my money...

My friends and I just recently left from here. First and foremost, no one greeted us in this establishment, so we assumed we could sit anywhere. Where we eventually did sit, a party was already reserved but the lady who reserved it was nice enough to let us stay in her section. It took our server almost thirty minutes upon arrival to try to take our menus. Our table didn’t have a QR code where we could look at the menu. Once we did order or food and our party came and received our food we didn’t see Wesli, our server for another hour. When she did come back, I ordered another Don Julio margarita (that’s pictured) and a couple of shots of don julio and 1800. Of course my drank sat for awhile, because I don’t guzzle, I sip. After it sitting for awhile it began to look like that, which is very dissatisfying. Wesli, our waitress never returned until I saw her AT THE END of the night to get my ticket and to tell her about the drink that’s pictured. She proceeded to get a manager. Once the manager or whoever he was came, I explained to him that my drink was nasty, looked nasty, and I didn’t want to pay for it. He told me that they don’t take liquor drinks back and it looked like that because it had sat for so long. I tried to tell him that our waitress, never returned until it was time to cash out. Didn’t check on us all night, didn’t ask if we wanted water, if we were fine and needed anything, NOTHING! I was upset but I didn’t want to argue. The waitress gave us our tickets and I had a ticket of 104 but once I paid and gave her my card to total was 109. Wesli, didn’t tell us about additional fees, service cards fees (which I’m guessing it was). She received a $14 and change gratuity for doing absolutely nothing tonight! Very disgusted with the service I received tonight. Keep your money and save your time if this is what they are selling and this is the type of service you’ll receive. Go spend your...

I ordered my food through Postmates for pickup. I arrived on time and my order was not ready when I arrived. They only had one server working the bar, which is where you pick your order up from. She greeted me, I told her I was there to pick up an order that I ordered online and she told me she was the only one there so give her a minute. I waited a few more minutes and decided to speak with the manager. It wasn’t her fault. She should not have had to work the bar, the dining area, and online pickup by herself. So I spoke with the owner and told him I placed an order online and would like my food so I can go. He went into the kitchen, and came back saying the order wasn’t showing in their system. I told him I need my food and a refund. He told me he will give me a refund but not give me my food. A minute later a guy from the kitchen comes out with two to go boxes. I asked him what was in them, he told me, and I told him that was my order, but he still put them behind the bar. The owner tells me he is not giving me my food. He gave me a void receipt, which was less than what I paid for my food. I demanded to get my food so I could go. I even checked my account to see if anything had been refunded and it hadn’t been. He insisted on not giving me my food. So I asked him was the food still back there and he said yes, so I offered to go ahead and pay for it AGAIN because I need to feed my family. He tells the assistant manager to take cash only from me! I will NEVER EVER go back there EVER again!!!!! THEY are the ones who dropped the ball but treated me as if I was the one who did!!!!! I would NEVER recommend anyone go to this place!!!! The owner is an older black man with absolutely ZERO customer satisfaction and HORRIBLE business ethics!!!! THIS is why black people DO NOT like doing business with black owned...
