At the drive thru they always say please wait just a second I'll be right with you. This is understandable at a restaurant but they have been taking forever lately. Yesterday we ate from fast food restaurants. I volunteered to pick everyone's food up and carry it home. Long story short, it was a long day so I decided to not cook. The first place I went to was McDonald's, so I already had hot food beside me in the car. After the drive thru lady had a car ahead of me wait a few minutes, they left. It's a good thing the food was still hot but my kids still didn't have a bite of it yet. I still had to buy food for my husband, me and my daughter at church's. I decided to pull up. She said the same thing to me that she apparently said to the driver who pulled off. I later pulled off because I had hot food. I came back because I had a taste for their chicken tenders and mashed potatoes plus Popeyes was crowded. My daughter needed mashed potatoes because some of her wisdom teeth were pulled. She told me to please hold and she'll be back when she came to the drive thru speaker again. Some time passed like 5 minutes or so, I said hello and she was there. Weird. I was thinking she's weird in my head. (At the same time I don't know if she or however are nasty people, so I didn't say anything to have my food spit on.) I just gave my order. I pulled up and she didn't even look in my direction. After a few seconds, I said hey and she said hey. I said I ordered two orders of the chicken tenders. She said yes and said was it about $19. I said yes. (I ordered a few other items.) She also moved slow and paid attention to the dudes that were customers in the restaurant. She was staring at them. I then noticed two orders of chicken tenders that were placed just sitting there while she went to the back. No one said anything to me. Especially the girl at the drive thru who was handling my order. She was gone all of about 6 minutes. I was trying to call the other lady but she was also listening to the ladies who were giving their order (I just noticed that, so when she got through, I said I ordered the chicken tenders right there and then I was going to tell her about my other sides. She told me that the girl was getting my sides. I said okay. I'm thinking to myself you know but I didn't know what was going on. That makes sense. The girl finally came back and said did I take a long time. She didn't say it in a smart way and was actually smiling. I don't think she realizes that this is not good customer service because she doesn't know any better. The mashed potatoes were extra hot but they just have to pay more attention to their customers and practice better...
Read moreI went to Church's Chicken located at 981 Cleveland Avenue, East Point, GA 30344 on 4/28/21. I attempted to place my order and I was told to come to the window. Upon arriving to the window the employee was there in an opened window and no mask. All the employees did not have on masks. I asked her was it not required for them to have on masks and she stated yes and instructed everyone to put on a mask. She then tried to make excuses for their non-compliance to COVID-19 safety measures. She stated everyone had gone to the back, except one employee, who was on the way out. She then started to tell the employee leaving she had the right one. The two of them got into a physical altercation right in front of me and any other customer(s) that may have been in the store. Because of this altercation her shirt was pulled up exposing her stomach and she pulled it down. The lady from the window and the employee that needed to leave were using loud profanity back and forth with each other. The lady from the window told that employee to get out. The employee left out and then opened the door to usher more profanity at the lady from the window. 'THIS IS BEYOND CRAZY AND VERY, VERY EMBAR- RASSING BECAUSE THIS HAPPENED IN OUR (BLACK) COMMUNITY." We are already addressed as being uncivilized and this type of behavior confirms that.
I was totally shocked and frightened by all of this chaos going on. I had given the lady in the window a coupon and another worker had to come over to finish the transaction and discounts were not applied and I had to ask this worker to pull her mask up. The lady from the window yelled at her (employee) and said you see she (me) has a mask on. Wow!
Whoever is over this store should be ashamed having conduct of this manner going on. I also called Corporate and reported this incident and they had no concern at all. I was told that Church's Chicken (Cleveland Avenue) management would get with me and provide any compensation for the horrible experience that happened.
I know there are a lot more professional Church's Chicken restaurants and they would never allow anything of this magnitude to happen in their store.
I know we don't have a lot of choices in East Point, but if a store has this type of reputation, it needs to be shut down or new Management should be placed there and the house needs to be cleaned out.
To date 4/30/21, no one has called me, and I'm going to call Corporate back again today and I'll update my...
Read moreI live in NY, and there are no Churches located here, so when I'm in the south, I try to get to one. This one was about 2 miles from our hotel in Atlanta. I ordered online (thank goodness!) and kept my eye on the order progress in the app. However, when I arrived, there was a crowd of folks in line in the restaurant, and there was zero a/c!! Looked like chaos, as people were getting hot and wondering when they would get to order, or where their order was. I waited for a while, because this is the ATL, and definitely the hood, and I didn't want any static. Eventually, I could see our order on one of the screens, so when there was a lull, I asked a nice lady behind the counter about it, and she asked was I Doordash? I guess the order was classified that way. She packed up some fresh, hot chicken and the sides and apologized, and I said thank you, but no worries. The food was delicious, fresh, hot and juicy. The condition of the restaurant itself needs attention, and they definitely need to work on their operations, but the lady who served us was cool and calm. I'd just say if you go there, order online before you go, and keep your eyes open once...
