I don’t usually leave reviews, but reviews are the first thing I look at as a customer. I had my wedding in April and purchased a cake from them. I purchased a simple white 2 tier cake for my wedding. Vanilla and chocolate with strawberry filling. No decorations, no fondant, nothing crazy. I decided on this bakery because it was the cheapest around and like I said I just needed a simple cake. Well, the entire thing caved in on itself. A friend of mine noticed the top tier was super wobbly while she was driving so she took extra care of every stop and turn. Didn’t matter because the cake was way too soft to support a second tier and it crumbled before it got to my venue. The pastry chef at the venue was able to save the top tier but the bottom was useless. We used the top tier for cake cutting, and it did taste good, but the rest of it crumbled on the way home after the wedding so we couldn’t even keep it for our anniversary. Its been 4 months since this happened and I never even called the bakery because It was the most stressful part of my wedding day and I just wanted to forget the whole thing but I think it’s important for people to know, especially if they’re looking for something as important as a...

They do not accept EBT when summer of 2021 I was buying their consistently ordered bakeries for a big birthday party and baby shower and the lady behind the counter was very ignorant when I asked her about the EBT and continue to lie and saying that they didn't have it for a long time when I know they did because I had did order previously that summer and not only that the baby shower party was in November and all was paid in my EBT go back there again yesterday and now they're saying they're not taking it that's not right for the community to view very to believe that there are people out there looking at us like we're very low care less people we have jobs we have children to take care of EBT is just there to help us for them to judge me when I walk through the door thank God I had cash on me because they were going to really let me not walk out with anything but that's my complaint and I feel like they need to respect their community more and appreciate their community since we continue to put them on the front pages of the East Providence book which I am part of...

My favorite bakery in the state. Simple, delicious, and reasonably priced, I have been coming to this bakery for 10 years when I want to buy a whole box of yummy treats to bring to a party. The egg custard tarts will always be a favorite.... However, this one time I wasn't hear for pastry (even if I bought a bunch) I was here for sandwich month.

The sandwich, pulled pork and peppers, was tasty and filling, but it wasn't anything particularly special either. It felt like running out the door as a kid and having my mom hand me a hastily thrown together sandwich full of love, but not necessarily flavor.

Don't get me wrong, I'd eat one again in a heartbeat. The pork was juicy and delicious, but the bun was just a roll, and the peppers were just peppers. I'm glad they gave me a reason to come spend $30 on pastry by joining sandwich month, and I'll always come back, but the sandwich was a 7.5/10. It just needed a little more to...

I moved back to Rhode Island recently and was looking for malasadas. I called and the person was super nice and explained the menu and options. Malasadas are only made on the weekends and you can pre-order, so I did. When I picked up, I also scanned the bakery cases and spoke with the discombobulated line inside (I say this with love). The folks that come here are regulars and most of them just want bread or Portuguese groceries like cheese or linguisa. I saw someone walking down the street with a bag of bread. I, however, wanted one of each custard tart (see photos of what I went home with). It totaled just under $30! So cheap. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed in the malasadas. It wasn’t the taste I remembered from my childhood. The other pastries were OK, but nothing hit a home run for me and my family. If I went back, I would look at the other offerings like bread, empanadas, groceries, or soup.

My first visit was today. I bought rolls that are priced higher than other bakeries, a pizza strip that had too much herbs in the tomato sauce and wine biscuits that are the worst i have ever had! Hard as rocks, so over cooked and not good flavor. Even dunking them in coffee didn’t help soften them. I am mad that I bought two packages of them as I hate throwing money away. I will be having the rolls later and will come back to update(though I am not optimistic about them). Update: I thought rolls were ok, but my husband thought they had an odd taste to them. Everything we bought had an odd taste. The herbs in the pizza strip left an odd aftertaste and the wine biscuits - I can’t even describe what they tasted like, but not wine biscuits.

During a road trip we were discussing where to find the best pastel DE nata in the us something that could even come close to what we eat in Portugal this Is something that is close to impossible to find but Taunton is very well known so we stopped here for a espresso and pastel de nata..which ended up with additional item portuguese rice pudding! All was very good not as good as Portugal but closer than a lot of other places we've tried. Highly recommend. We plan to stop here again on our way home.
