Townies Feel Good Food — Restaurant in East Providence

I don’t normally do reviews because let’s be honest mistakes happen. After reading all the reviews from townies establishment, I was sold most of the reviews were really good excluding a couple bad ones! But I had to get the steak and cheese with onions because I have been craving it. So I decided to try here instead of my normal place. The girl who took my order was very friendly. After heading to pick up my order everything was perfect! Service the wait time was pretty good. Than to the part where I get home to be disappointed, no onions on both mine and my husband sandwhich. Which was so upsetting because what’s a steak and cheese without onions?… in my opinion. So I decided to call and make sure that I was not the one who forgot to ask for onions, because again mistakes happen. But no I did ask for onions. The only disappointment was after letting the girl know of the situation she apologized and than asked to make 2 new ones. The point here is I would have gladly said yes but honestly did not want to wait again for another 2 sandwhiches, than having to go out again after I’ve just gotten back from townies! I was hungry and had just gotten home from work. I just wish that there was something more done about the situation than an apology. Which don’t get me wrong I appreciated that. I don't post reviews very often, but this place deserves a moment of my time. 5 stars is not adequate to describe this place. The steak sandwich is one of the best shaved steak sandwich i have ever had....the ribeye steak that they use is delicious and the sandwiches are stuffed with this tender steak. honestly, i can't believe it is only 11 bucks for a large. But as good as the steak is i rarely get it......because the grilled chicken sandwich is even better.....absolutely packed with their grilled marinated chicken. I get mine with lettuce, tomato, onion, and extra house dressing...the best grilled chicken sandwich I have ever had. i look at the negative reviews here and call bullshit. The owner is the nicest guy you could ever meet. looking at the profiles of these negative reviewers its clear they are miserable trolls as they give only bad reviews and lots of them . I've eaten here many times over the years. The food quality everywhere here fallen off since covid-19. Townies, even with the same cook and employees food and service has fallen off as well. The gentleman who cooks and I believe is the owner never smiles, his energy is very negative and he has become ruder to customers as time has gone on. A friend of mine ordered pizza the other night. After walking g to pick up the pizza the owner cussed my friend out saying he was late to pick up this order. Of course all of this is after my friend ordered a pizza and informed the woman on the phone that he was walking and would head over there knowing they were closing within the half hour. Mind you my friend walked and is a handicap, wounded veteran. My friend apologized for arriving behind schedule and the owner had nothing but arrogant mean things to day.
