King Of Poke — Restaurant in East Rutherford

Order placed on Uber eats. When I drove there to pick my order up, they were closed. The owners were in the taco store next door. They said the poke shop was closed. I explained I drove over after placing the order online and the order being accepted. They just repeated it’s closed, no apology or anything. It’s the same owner. There was another person waiting for their order also. A minute later, the person working went next door to cancel my order in their computer. Wasted 30 minutes of waiting for the order and another 15 driving. Disgusting business practices and couldn’t even apologize.

In response to the owners reply - it’s not about Uber eats not charging me. I waited 30 minutes for the order, drove over to pick it up, so wasted 45 minutes on food no one intended to make.

Secondly, if the nonchalant employee at the taco shop next door was able to go in and cancel my order, she could have also gone in and turned off Uber eats so you couldn’t accept orders in the first place.

Lastly, a little bit of customer service goes a long way. It was as if I was wasting their time by them having to explain to me that they are closed and too bad. That’s not how to run a business.

Second update - I did give y’all a second chance, like you asked in the reply, and the same exact thing happened. Order placed online. Arrive 30 minutes later, and you are closed...

Okay, so I’ve been here 3 times. The first time we went, the service was incredibly slow. I will say that we had a big group. But it took almost an hour to get our drinks and chips. But I still went back, so you know something had to be great. Here’s my breakdown

-Birria tacos: 3.5/5 very tiny, not crispy, and quite expensive (3 tiny tacos for like $18) -Birria fries: 5/5 TOP TIER. You’d think with so many toppings, the fries would get soggy. But nope. Close to perfection. My only suggestion would be to trim more fat off the birria. I found a few big pieces of fat the last time I ordered, but I’d still buy it again. -Chicken quesadilla: 2/5 quite bland, but the kids ate it -empanadas: 4/5 my husband really enjoyed these -smoothie (strawberry) 3/5 not the best flavor. Mostly ice -smoothie (mango pineapple I believe) 1.5/5 my nephews wouldn’t drink this one. Tasted super watered down and again, mostly ice.

Final verdict. GET THE BIRRIA FRIES. Worth every penny. I’m going to try the birria pizza the next time we go. Customer service was excellent the last two times I went btw. First time, it was lacking, but the girl...

Saw this place on IG and wanted to treat my son to the birria pizza because he love tacos etc. When I got their I found out the pizza is only sold on Friday's and Saturday's(not the restaurant fault. The person who made the video should have noted this.) They also only sell I believe 20 for the day between 12-5pm. I could be mistaken on the time and quantity so call ahead is what the menu says.
