Authentic Dominican Flavor in the Heart of East Stroudsburg

I had the chance to try ¿Que Lo Que? Sabor Dominicano and this place is a gem. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is vibrant and welcoming. The decor is fun and colorful, with thoughtful touches like hand-painted pots and Dominican cultural details that give the space real personality.

The staff is excellent, welcoming and professional. The staff greets you like family. Not just polite, but genuinely warm, with the kind of welcome that makes you feel like you’ve been coming here for years.

The food? Outstanding. I tried the oxtail stew and it was fall-off-the-bone tender, richly seasoned, and full of flavor like grandma’s. It was beautifully plated, topped with fresh julienned veggies and herbs for a great balance. The mofongo was another standout perfectly mashed plantains with crispy chicharrón and a garlic sauce that tied everything together.

The presentation was clearly done with care, but nothing felt pretentious just good, hearty Dominican food made right. Traditionally authentic and...

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to try something unique for my wife’s birthday. I’ve never really been to a Dominican restaurant before, but the menu here caught our eye. Since we were short on time (thanks to needing to sneak away from the kids), we ordered carryout—still hoping for something memorable.

This place did not disappoint! First off, I almost never see Mofongo on a menu, so that was exciting. I can’t say if it’s the most authentic (I have only had this dish twice in my life), but I can say it was absolutely delicious—savory, satisfying, and something I’d happily order again and again.

We also tried the Lomo Saltado, which was just as outstanding. My oldest daughter had a bite and said it reminded her of poutine—and she wasn’t wrong! The fries soaked up the rich beef sauce perfectly, the beef was tender and full of flavor, and every bite felt comforting and hearty.

Overall, this was an amazing birthday meal, even as takeout. Next time we’re in town, I’m hoping we can sit down and enjoy it fresh from the kitchen....

My son and I went and I was there before I order a chicken soup so I told my son about today we decide to go BUT the waitress I saw in my first visit I ask her “ can we sit outside in the partió” waitress say yes 10 min seating no one come to ask us what we want to eat, 15 min later a woman comes out saying she was the owner only brings 1 menu is 2 of us (second) mistake we order 2 mangú 3 golpes we eat no one came to ask us if we need it something else mangú took 25 min to cook woman told us was going to take some time. I have been a waitress if a guest comes in we walk the guest to the table give them the menu so they could see what they want. Food is great but need to improved customer service. My check came out over $40 and change got 2 mangú $15 each a bottle of water and a small tamarindo juice. There was a guy...

As our first family trip in PA, we came across que lo que sabor dominicano. It was a 10/10 experience. Everyone got a different dish, my young sister got her empanadas de queso (Cheese) I recommend ! She loved and so did we !. My mom got the mofongo, as her first time trying it she loved it, a different texture dish with different flavoring around the smashed plantain. I got their steak dish 10/10 with fries! Another family member got lomo soltado delicious ! Nicely flavored only thing we wish to order rice next time regardless the whole plate was ate ! 10/10. Whenever we stop by PA again, we will definitely be coming back! I recommend to anyone who lives near by or comes to PA to visit! The place is great atmosphere! Loved the Hispanic music playing in the background while waiting for our food, Almost had me wanting to dance!

I drove From NY to Poconos East Stroudsburg and it was all worth it. I have to say, that the restaurants decor is very tasty like the food. It was very welcoming and seated quickly. For starters we had a mixed platter that looked small but enough for 7 people and I have to say that the platter itself convinced me that the Entree was going to be. We had the mofongo with chicharon perfectly done with a perfect garlic sauce to go with. The chicken stew had the criolla taste from el patio (The Yard). Will post pics, oh before I forget celebrated my Nephew birthday and the tres leche for his cake made this night perfect.
