Long John Silver's | KFC — Restaurant in East Tawas

I'm usually not one to leave a review; only from time to time. However I think this KFC/Long John Silver's deserves some recognition. I'm used to grabbing a coke and a large fry from McDonald's in tawas or a pricey burger meal from burger king however I have enjoyed the fish tacos from ljs for the past few years. Once morning after a night of drinking I was craving chicken and Mac. I usually never eat at KFC. When I tell you how much I've been missing out I'm not kidding. Idk why people even eat at McDonald's to be honest. They hardly ever change up their menu, their QP is bland. There's just nothing special to their menu. Their prices are outrageous! That seems to be the only change I see on their menu actually is the increase of their prices. KFC's original chicken is soooo juicy and delicious. I'm not even one who cares for fried chicken or chicken at all for that matter but man I've been obsessed with it. I ate it on the Saturday before Easter then took my family of 5 through the drive thru ON Easter as well and spent $65 on an 8 PC bucket, 2 LG sides and 4 buscuits plus I got 3 k8 meals which come with a drink, 2 small sides a buscuits and 3 pcs of chicken (you cannot best that deal) and today I'll be going again to get my k8 and some large sides as well just because I can't stop thinking about how good their food is. My kids who 2 of them out of 3 don't even like chicken love their chicken. Love the sides love the buscuits. People may think that eating there 3 days in a row is insane but not eating their seems insane. The crew seem down to earth, they're friendly and have super fast service. The women in the window are always saying "Hun or babe or sweetie" and I'm a female myself and I like to see other women being nice like that even if I'm not a man. I absolutely love this place in tawas and I drive from hale. Or I get it while I'm running errands in tawas. Today I have no errands or reason to go to tawas but I'm still going just for the food. Because it's better than any other restaurant in tawas...

I am writing this review with much disappointment!! The LSJ I went to is in, East Tawas, Michigan. I have enjoyed many meals there in the past, with the JJL and the KFC restaurants that share the facility, but this meal was unedible. This was not my first recent very negative experience. On this visit, the drive through window looked in to a very unkept, dirty workstation. I'm glad I didn't order a drink too. The clerk was friendly, but not very well presented, much like thedrive throughwindow. She took my order and completed the transaction without any problems. But the food was beyond awful! The french fries were soggy and floppy with a dirt taste to them. I ordered a side order of shrimp that was so over cooked the shrimp was cooked to disintegration! There was nothing left inside their breaded coating, in fact, it was so overcooked it hurt my mouth to bite into it to discover the shrimp was excessively overcooked. I had to throw it away and find something else for my meal. This was nearly $15 worth of food! Not something people can...

My mother & I stopped for lunch, but we're very disappointed with the greasy food & dirty conditions in the eating area. There were mostly dirty tables when we arrived, including a sticky floor & food on the floor by the table we chose. In the hour we were there, no one ever came out to wash/disinfect tables or sweep floors! Our LJS fish & chicken plank meals were so greasy; had to give Tums to my mom when leaving. I was given fish by error since I'd ordered the LJS chicken, & told that was just their "chicken!" As if I don't know the difference. Another lady got me the correct meal afterwards. Mom used the lady's room where there was no hand soap either! Very hard to remain safe from Covid 19, etc, without cleaning....
