This will be the ultimate breakdown of the East Windsor chipotle. I come here often and it’s time I leave the truest review to make sure you all understand. DONT EVER ORDER PICKUP. Weather it’s carry out, or drive thru, don’t do it. There’s no customers there to watch them build your order, so they throw the smallest portions into the bowl and give it to you half empty. The moment you open it at home or driven away in your car, you’re 9 times out of 10 not really gonna go back, so you’re stuck having paid over 15 bucks for a mediocre meal. The taste? Hit or miss. You can tell this chipotle doesn’t really follow the classic chipotle recipe cards. Some days it’s good, some days there’s no flavor, some days it’s overwhelmingly spicy. Do I really want my chipotle meal to be some sort of casino game? No thanks. I want a good meal every time. Not to mention the dishes.. when I order to eat inside, stained plates with grime. Whoever is doing their dishes needs to be fired because this has happened on MULTIPLE occasions. I’ve also observed that whenever the tall Indian lady manager is working the portions shrink exponentially! It’s like the workers seem worried that she’s there and size down. But whenever she’s not around suddenly my bowls are a good size. So if you see the tall Indian lady in the polo don’t bother ordering that day unless you want a bowl half the size it should be. all and all if you could just spare the extra miles and time to drive to another chipotle, do it. I’m very very disappointed in this chipotle, I live 5 minutes away and was super excited for the opening of this chipotle, I have lived in east Winsdor for over 5 years and this was the best thing yet to come I THOUGHT! This location has only been open for 3 days when I visited and placed a online order to pick up in drive thru, my order was set to be ready by 6:40pm and I could not get until 7pm. That’s not even the biggest issue. This is the first time I ever got chipotle and was not full and had to make another meal at home. I ordered a burrito and a bowl this was the smallest burrito I ever got from a chipotle. Mind you I’ve been eating chipotle since high school YEARS I have loved chipotle. This is why I’m taking the time to write this full review because I’m extremely disappointed. I also went inside to use the bathroom while waiting to see inside and it was so dirty I have never seen a chipotle so nasty inside especially a brand new one, it was so dirty I would never eat inside. Read moreI tried this location on two days (Friday & Sunday). Both poor experiences. I expected it to be busy on my first visit so I arrived 15 minutes after my pickup time to find that my order wasn't ready. I get it, new location and busy, but when I brought it to their attention they treated me as if I did something wrong! I showed them my order confirmation and all. After receiving my food approximately 35 minutes after pickup time I was disappointed to find that the portions were so minimal.
I tried again Sunday hoping maybe they had made some changes based off their first few days. I ordered for pickup at 1:40pm. Understanding they were busy I waited 15 minutes, still no food. I asked the manager as he passed by what to do. He said to wait in the walk-in line and re-order my meal. I mentioned that the staff would be making making my meal twice (the online order and my walk-in order) and he says it's the loss he would take. Hello! He's making the staff work twice as hard and getting the throughput of a single customer with wasted product in the end. I ended up leaving after an hour and never received my order that I paid for.
The worst part is, is that the Manager had poor communication skills to customers and showed no leadership whatsoever. I feel terrible for the staff that actually wants to perform well, but is led by an incompetent manager.
