Customers shopping inside this CVS are not being asked to wear a mask or leave the store, if they should happen to walk in without one on, according to an employee working at the register. The employee said that a manager had instructed the employee not to bother confronting customers entering without masks on.
I heard the employee tell a women not wearing a mask (at checkout) that it was okay. It may have been that the customer acknowledged forgetting to wear her mask, I’m not sure, but the customer definitely had no mask on and the employee seemed to reinforce that it was fine (but I hope just for that shopping trip). I would have liked to hear the employee tell her to wear a mask next time, at least. Especially since CVS is one of the large retailers that has recently made wearing a mask inside its stores a requirement (mandatory) across all its stores nationwide.
