UPDATE: Crazy weird experience 08/19/2025: Hubs and I went for dinner and I ordered mango shrimp for what would be the 4th time. It had been delicious. Plate arrived at table and the shrimp where glistening but had NO batter and clearly not fried. I took a bit of one shrimp - very bland though nice size. I asked the waitress where was the batter I so loved on it (and did not even bring up less than half the mango-ish sauce I had previous times). She took plate back; within a minute another server and a manager came out and said it was right. I asked them to read their own menu and that as regulars there I had already had the dish three times prior and the shrimp had always been truly lightly battered and fried like a light tempura treatment. They continued to tell me I was wrong (at this point it felt like they were accusing me of lying and I was very uncomfortable; the older woman server was almost hostile and commented I must have had another dish. She demanded I show her a pic of my former dish (sadly, didn't have one as had already done pics of a previous meal here). Just OMG. I read the menu description to them aloud and sent back the dish. To his credit, the manager offered to make another dish...no. Appetite lost. They took that dish off the meal off the bill. Sadly, after being treated so incredibly poorly and accused of not knowing what I had previously, we will never go back. Pic of menu desription added. Original: My husband and I lived in the DC Metro area for years prior to recently moving to Caroline Co., MD, and we ate at excellent (and no so much) throughout that area. I have also traveled a lot and had some great Asian dishes at restaurants in NYC, Philly, Vegas, Florida, Cork Ireland, etc. We have now had 4 meals at Chopsticks in Easton, two dine in and two carryout, and we agree their food is among the best we have had for this cuisine! The menu is versatile and the ingredients are truly high quality. It's a modern casual vibe and very clean. Service is outstanding.
My favorites, so far, are the dumplings (steamed or lightly fried), egg drop soup, wanton soup, Mango Shrimp (big shrimp perfectly cooked/tender) Triple Delight, House Pad Thai, and...
Read moreI recently visited Chopsticks Asian Bistro for lunch, eager to try out this new dining spot in the area. We decided to order the fried rice and the Sichuan beef, and I have mixed feelings about our experience.
First off, the portion sizes were impressive for lunch—definitely enough to satisfy a hearty appetite. However, the flavors left something to be desired. The fried rice was surprisingly bland and lacked the seasoning that one would expect from a dish like this. The proteins in both our dishes—beef, shrimp, and chicken—were quite chewy. It seemed that they were boiled rather than fried, which was disappointing given the restaurant's name and the expectations that come with it.
The Sichuan beef, in particular, was also boiled and had the same chewy texture. Additionally, there were gelatinous bits of sauce that hadn’t been properly incorporated, which detracted from the overall presentation and enjoyment of the dish.
Another point worth mentioning is the absence of bottled water options. They didn't offer sparkling water, which is something I often look forward to with a meal.
On a positive note, the restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, though I have to mention the presence of a roto rooter technician working in the middle of the dining area, which was not the most appealing sight while we were eating.
Our server was very nice and attentive, which added a pleasant touch to our visit. Overall, I think there’s potential for Chopsticks Asian Bistro, and I’d be willing to return to try their sushi offerings. However, I must admit that Easton already boasts a fantastic sushi place that sets a high bar. Here's hoping that with time, the kitchen can refine their dishes and elevate the...
Read moreThe Easton area has a new and very good Chinese restaurant. The menu rings NYC-style and has most of the favorites. Soups were very good, and came with the REQUIRED crunchy chow mein noodles (I would use less cornstarch in the hot and sour soup). Egg Roll was very authentic and crunchy, with not too much cabbage (I would switch to a better duck sauce and serve hot mustard also). The dumplings here are tasty but frozen (this is a no-no, but it is understood that these don't stay fresh very long). Orange Chicken was not too sweet and not too batter-heavy, and the orange taste came through as required. The Chicken with Garlic Sauce was made perfectly with white meat chicken dancing with all the right veggies (although I ordered extra-spicy, I got not-really-all-that-spicy). The Yellowtail Jalapeno confirmed that they are taking their sushi menu seriously. I can't wait to come back and try a bigger sushi-heavy selection. The decor is simple and stylish. The servers were very attentive, understanding, courteous and helpful. This place is a must try on the Eastern Shore if you are like me, a transplant from bigger cities in the Northeast, where good chinese food is...
