A friend and I shared a disappointing meal at Spaghetti Factory on March 22, for reasons as follow. First, though, I am going to seek a refund of the upcharge put on our bill without our knowledge, and the tip given to the waitress. It seems that while her service was decent, it was obviously just quick checks of our table to make us feel she was paying attention and her honesty was questionable. The lunch menu was very limited and while there were paninis with pre-determined ingredients, there were no sandwiches and no way to get anything other than one of the "canned" paninis. Likewise, the three salads gave no flexibility and one could not add any ingredients. Though I would have liked to add salmon to a Caesar salad, I did not want a full portion, but was told no, point blank, when I asked if I could just get half. No manager was consulted. My "Caesar" salad was Romaine lettuce, a few shavings of parmesan (three or four), some croutons, and dressing. Most of it was the big plate of lettuce, the problem being that it was almost all the hard, tasteless spines and very few green leaves. It was without a doubt, the poorest excuse for a Caesar salad I have ever had. My friend said her panini was delicious, but she got the side portion of Caesar salad similar to mine. She asked if they had anchovies for the salad, and the waitress said "of course, it's one of the ingredients in a Caesar salad." A success! Until I got home and looked at the itemized bill. You see, when I was given the slip to sign, it only had a total on it so I added a tip and returned it to the waitress. She took her copy, and only then gave me the itemized receipt as we were leaving. Imagine my surprise when I sat down to record the charge and found that there had been $2.00 added for the anchovies. No mention was made of an additional charge when my friend asked for them, which I thought was required, and $2.00 seems awfully high for 3 little anchovies when you can get an entire tin for $1.40. The main point is the principle. In summary, my food was less than mediocre and while my friend's panini was good, her salad was no better than mine and was expensive due to the "padding" charge. We will not...
Read moreCame in, place was busy which was OK. Staff was friendly at the door. After seated, we were neglected for almost 10 minutes. The server was like, oh my gosh I'm so sorry I only just found out you were here, took our drink order. Then took an additional 5-10 minutes to bring the drinks. We ordered our food, then when the server came back after bringing bread to 3 other tables I asked if we could get some she replied with, oh my gosh I'm so sorry I forgot to bring you bread, we got the bread and didn't get food for almost 40 minutes. She claimed the system was down or whatever something with internet. Then when we get the food, the Brussels sprouts were not good at all. Took one bite spit it out didn't eat it. Through the whole meal the server didn't check on us once, she was checking all other tables and finally remembered we were there after having fun goofing off gossiping with the host, came and was like, omg I forgot to check up on you guys, Service was terrible. Food was mediocre, and when I asked for the Brussels sprouts to be removed they said no. On the menu it says fried and I didn't read it close enough. So I paid over 70 dollars for 2 people. For terrible service. WILL NEVER...
Read moreWhen you first walk in you think it may be too small but they seemed to make it all work. The atmosphere is nice, not really cozy or romantic, but is still nice enough to sit and enjoy a meal.
The service wasn't bad but I think I got the server that seemed overwhelmed. He would ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything many times (once even before we could even take a bit) but when I asked for something he forgot all about it. Service has room for improvement.
The food: the calamari appetizer was freezer burnt and super chewy and the marinara was super runny. I had the spaghetti 7 fishes which wasn't too bad. Everything was cooked to perfection but the tail shells were left on the shrimp and the marinara sauce was once again super runny. My wife had chicken parmesan where one portion wasn't cooked properly. This tells me the chicken is frozen and wasn't properly prepped.
Would I go back? Possible, it will be a long time before I do because they made simple mistakes that left a bad taste in my mouth (literally). Would I recommend? I admit there was good qualities to this place and they may of had a bad night. I would say give it a try and see for yourself, but don't get...
