If you're considering going to Phil's, there are a few things you need to know...
The food is amazingly good. I would not get cheesesteaks from elsewhere along the Main Line. (Emphasis on Main Line.) I love their crinkle-cut fries too. The staff are grumpy. They can be rude. They are not the most welcoming and their customer service isn't great. BUT the food is awesome and at least worth doing takeout. Pay cash. If you pay credit, you get an upcharge. If you choose to dine in, just make sure you get your food and everything you need. If anything is wrong, tell them to fix it. They'll probably be grumpy about it, but they'll do it. You only get 1 free drink refill. (It's weird because it's a fountain, but that's their policy.) I have never done delivery, but I'd recommend doing takeout instead and checking your items to make sure they're all there and correct.
If you want an authentic-tasting Philly cheesesteak, Phil's is it. As long as you're not looking for the staff to wine and dine you, get your order, check it's correct, and get out. Again, customer service isn't great, but the food is, so if you're up for a challenge, check it out. I've been a customer since 2006. It's worth a...
Read moreI came into this establishment to get a slice of what is known to me as tomato pie and was talked to rudely by the guy at the counter. 3 times I came and each time He was rude. Today I told him my slice was cold and his tone and talk to disrespectful. I had to eat a cold slice due to fearing more rude service. After I ate I spoke with a different employee about the origin of the pizza makers and the rude counter person came over into the conversation. I informed him my slice was cold and his rude attitude kept me from requesting my slice to be reheated. He repeatedly stated he talks to and treats everyone the same way. I pointed out 2 other customers he was not rude to and the employee he told to go get boxes. I asked for an apology and he again stated he didn't do anything wrong. I asked again for an apology because I would like to come back for more pizza in the future. He again refused. I WILL NEVER RETURN to the Lancaster location due to this. I recommend him getting retrained in customer service skills and interaction with the customers on a respectable level. He is plain rude and...
Read moreHighly disappointed. We’ve been customers of Devon since Phil’s opened and in Sea Isle until it was sold two years ago. Tonight, after going to the “order on line” link on Phil’s website we were sent to “Seemless.” What do we know? Seemless? Never heard of it but Phil’s website sent us there. The result… We are picking up our order and, in front of other customers, we get lectured by the highly customer focused Phil’s professional, “in the future, only order through Phil’s because we lose 30% when you order through Seemless.” Afraid not Phil’s. Food has been good enough to be our Devon area exclusive for all these years but not good enough for the embarrassing grief. After all these years of helping your profits, never again. You didn’t lose 30% (not our problem) you lost 100% of profit from us. Goodbye old friend. Suggest you consider having your customer facing staff not wear your profit problems on their face. We have our own profit...
