Which Wich — Restaurant in Eastvale

It has been a while, since I have been here. The food is always great, and the service usually is as well! Today, I was very disappointed to see the lack of concern for Safe Food Handling practices. I just visited the Eastvale Which Wich, to purchase a simple BLT sandwich for my late lunch. I watched one of the employees process a cash transaction, for which he removed his gloves. After assisting the customer, who placed his order after mine, by the way, the same employee who just bare-handedly processed cash, goes straight to the gloves to prepare to handle food! I watched the young man put on the gloves, and then asked him why he would not wash his hands first, before attempting to handle food. He simply replied, "oh I wasn't going to handle the food, I was just going to bag up the sandwich." Same thing! I think that the point is, simple hand washing! There is a sink right there, in the view of Customers. Yet, he chose not to use it. I told the him, that I really do not think that his failure to wash his hands, then contaminate the other gloves in the box, as several were pulled out, was okay! Nice young lady greeted me when I walked in. The place was clean and organized. This was my first time visiting this place so I was really looking forward to this. The young lady was very helpful with the choices they offered and what was popular. I actually sat down to take my time going over the menu. I finally decided on two of them because that is the amount I had the intention of purchasing. She walked me through the process and learned that, although on the list of options, the avocado is not free like the rest of them. Not a problem. So I completed my order and then waited. It did not take long and was I surprised. These things were long! I couldn't wait to get them home. I have to say that I really enjoyed them but what was lacking was the lettuce, believe it or not. Again, I did like them but looked nothing like the pictures they advertise with. (I know, who ever gets that right.) Next time, I intend to ask about that. It is a good thing that this place is going out of business. I wish I would have seen the sign before me and my wife went in to order. The diet Pepsi was flat. The trough below the soda fountain was completely full and overflowing. Both my wife and I ordered the turkey and stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwich. Her sandwich barely had any cranberry sauce on it. My sandwich looked like somebody put an entire can of cranberry jelly on it. We ordered the sandwiches hot, and at best, the sandwiches were room temperature. We ordered their fries, and they served us two bags of fries, and each bag was the equivalent of a Carl's Jr. small french fry, or five bucks a bag. On top of that, my wife got literally a frozen french fry in her bag of fries. A large portion of their menu items were out of stock. Will I try a witch sandwich shop again?
