Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Eau Claire

My party and I visited on Saturday 1/2/21 in the evening. The atmosphere is nice and this is the first time I've been there since you first opened years ago. I will say the food was great as I remember, but our server.. eh .. left a little to be desired. It really wasn't all that busy from what I could see. We had people who had ordered after us, get their food well before us. After we were served our food, our server came to ask us how our "first bites" were. When we raised our heads to answer, she had already turned her back to us and was about 10 steps away from our table. It was as if she really didn't care. One in our party had asked for certain items to be excluded from their salad and plate, but those items were still included. She did a decent job in seeing that a drink needed a refill, but then took over 10 minutes to refill it.

As I said, the food was good and very well cooked. However, the service is the 'face' of the company. I was sad to see our server didn't really didn't give you a good look. It's debatable if I will return...

Ate here recently. Horrible service and ribs were burned and dry. Will not be back. Much better BBQ in town.

The waitress would disappear for 20-30 mins at a time. The ribs were severely over cooked. Could not eat them!

Also I could not pay with Apple Pay even though I was told we could before we ordered. So come time to pay the bill and we were then told we could not pay with Apple Pay. Well if I would have known that prior we won’t not have ordered because we did not bring our wallets. We only ordered because we were told we could pay with Apple Pay.

So then the “manager” advised the server that one of us had to go get our wallet and come back while the other one waited! Like we were some criminals that weren’t going to come back and pay. We have our two year old with us. What did they think we were going to do? They created the situation in the first place.

No apology or anything. We had my brother call in the payment for us....

Ordered a feast for my wife and I to share.

Meats arrived cool/cold, we dont have time to wait around for food to be remade.

Waitress did not check up on the table for the entire duration of the visit.

Meal was supposed to come with cornbread, but no cornbread was given to us. Waitress was unsure about the process and only offered to give it to us to-go which is crazy to hear.

Why would we want cornbread to go? It was to be eaten with the meal.

After being very stern that I'd like a discount on the meal due to the missing items, it took quite some time for her to come back and tell us the manager approved a $5 discount to the bill.

That's about the cost of a single drink.

Meal is overpriced for the lack of food given. $30 something for 3 single ribs, 1 scoop of pork, and a small bit of chicken.
