We visited the Eau Claire location last Sunday evening at 5pm for our daughter's birthday and I can honestly say that we will NEVER return. We noticed that the parking lot was sparsely populated and now we know why. Let me share the details of this debacle. We were seated immediately and promptly served but that is where the good ended. We ordered some adult beverages. My daughter's Strawberry Margarita came with salt on the rim, not sugar and my Bloody Mary was overwhelmed with Tabasco with no other seasonings. The waiter explained that it was her first shift by herself. She is obviously in need of more training or not left to her own devices. My daughter order the Half Chicken and only after our order had been placed, were we informed that there was no white meat for her order. WHAT?! We could see the chicken rotisserie as we walked in. When the meal finally arrived, the meal went from bad to worse. Everybody's food arrived tepid at best. The vegetables were not crisp tender, they were raw as if they had been placed under the warming lamp to cook. The corn on the cob was waterlogged and mushy. The ribs and brisket were very tough and incredibly chewy to the point that they were inedible. The brisket had been cut with the grain not against as is normal practice. The steak was also very tough. Out of the 5 people in our party, the only meal that was decent was my 3 year old grandson's chicken tenders. The waiter checked in with us and upon learning that we had many issues with the meal, he sent the manager over. Her solution was to remake our entrées but we were not interested in prolonging the evening's dissapointment. Her other solution was to give us a gift card for a return visit. When we said that we would not be returning, she said we could give the card to someone else to use. When we received the bill, there was a whopping $30 dollor credit on a VERY expensive and distressing meal. To top it off, even though we had mentioned TWICE that we were there to celebrate our daughter's birthday, not one employee there offered her a free dessert or even gave her a Happy Birthday greeting. Most restaurants that we have visted in the area are usually good about doing this small gesture. This restaurant does not care about the persona that they are generating. Save your money and avoid this establishment...
Read moreThe flavor profiles on the food are always on point and the portion sizes are generous, but the service is usually lacking in that some servers seem to need much more training and the restaurant feels understaffed on a regular basis, especially during peak dining hours when it is needed the most. The wait to be seated can be very long, but they do offer call ahead seating. The kitchen staff frequently mixes up the different dipping sauces for entrées and appetizers and the food runners (expo) do not notice before bringing the plates to the table. We once ordered three plates of nachos for appetizers and three individual fajita entrées for dinner (20 people) and every single one of them came with a different sauce and this happens when we are dining as a family of three. The bar staff also seem overwhelmed on busy evenings, or the server doesn't remember to pick up the order, and many nights we had our drink order served within minutes of our appetizers. We've learned through two dining experiences in the last few months, a party of 8 for my birthday and the other a surpise 40th birthday party with 20 people for my husband, that we will not go to Grizzly's Wood-Fired Grill to celebrate with large groups any longer because the service is so poor; the party of 20 was prearranged weeks in advance with a manager and it was a disaster. As a family of three we generally receive better service during the lunch hours, but we mostly just order carryout at this point and we always check to make sure or order is correct before leaving. The atmosphere is relaxing with a rustic log cabin type of decor and dim lighting, the menu is expansive, and they are very family friendly. I personally give the food five stars, but because of service related issues that my family has experienced repeatedly is the reason for the three star...
Read moreI had quite possibly the worst experience ever here today. I ordered online through their website to pick up an order to go. I was told it would be ready at 7:01pm. I arrived at 7pm and walked up to the host stand. There, two girls who were both employees were having a conversation and when I approached the host stand they both looked annoyed. I told them I had an online order to pick up. One of them told me “check the shelf” in a very annoyed tone, seeming as if I interrupted their conversation despite them being at work. My food was not on the shelf so I figured it would be coming. I waited for 15 minutes, and my food never came out. Multiple staff walked past me and what appeared to be a manager yet nobody acknowledged me. After 15 minutes I walked up to the host stand again and asked the gentleman if he could check on my order. He proceeded to ask me if I had paid for it. When I told him yes he said is it a doordash order? I told him no and that I ordered it on the website. He goes “well you’re gonna have to talk to the bartender they handle the orders not me” I informed him that nobody told me that nor did the website or confirmation email. So I walked up to the bar and told the bartender my name. She told me she’d go check on it, she was gone for quite some time but I watched her go and wait on 3 different tables. Then she finally brought out my food. My food was cold and soggy and I’m going to assume that was because it was sitting in the back the whole time I was there. Mind you the food was already overpriced and I splurged to even buy this to begin with. Overall incredibly disappointed in the food and staff. I will not be returning and will be sure to never recommend this place to...
