We use to frequent the Eau Claire red lobster until inflation hit them like everyone else. We seen the add on tv with crab fest with the legs slathered in Cajun butter and garlic butter and couldn't wait to go try it. We went this evening my daughter ordered the snow crab and the sever asked if she would like to add a half or full pound to her order which she did and got the garlic butter. I got the Baird crab in Cajun butter and was not asked if I would like to add more so I asked. I was told I couldn't do a half pound but could do a full pound which I did. My girlfriend got the the two shrimp and added scallops. We also ordered the lobster dip. When we got our food it didn't look nothing like advertised. Instead we got a bowl of what looked like burnt butter on the side. The Crab legs were still good but who thought it would be a good idea to put them on a bed of hard over crispy potatoes? My girlfriend got the brussel sprouts which were hard and almost no sauce on them. One would think for an upcharge to get them they would have been better than that! The dragon shrimp where mushy and had almost no sauce. Our waitress Ella was like the grea Houdini because she was almost never to be seen. Went for part of the meal with nothing to drink and desperately wanted to go boxes and a bill to get out of there. We had to ask someone else to get a box and when we got the bill it was $160 looking at the receipt I realized I guess I ordered two meals? 10-09-2023 update/response (We no longer live in that area, We are not looking for a freebie. We just wanted to give some feedback. We also don't want to reflect badly on the extremely kind servers we had)
I had a few observations that I want to share with you today.
There is more good than bad. Let me start with the negative and finish with the positive.
Flies. There were flies flying around our food. No a pleasant thing.
Your all you can eat shrimp on your menu is very confusing. We had to ask the poor wait staff to explain it to us.
We see a choice of two types of shrimp, three types of shrimp, or endless shrimp.
Looking at it, You get the opinion that you get on the two or three, endless shrimp from those two you pick. Then there was the ultimate endless which was anything. That made ordering white confusing and at the end the The price was higher than anticipated.
(I'm not looking for a gift card, We don't even live in the area anymore)
That menu item should be clarified better.
Now the Good.
The wait staff was very kind pleasant and enjoyable. They made us feel welcome. Even when our main waitress was overloaded I noticed that other weight staff joined in to help with serving.
Your duty manager made sure she went around and greeted people at the table. That's always a good thing.
The restaurant was clean the bathrooms were clean and I have no problems...
Read moreWe decided to come to Eau Claire location because I saw on the today show how red lobster was rebranding. It had been probably 10 years since I had been there? The dining room is pretty dated. Hopefully someday they can update. We were greeted at our table by two young women, one was in training. They were so accommodating the entire time we were there. Since it was wed the special was lobster and steak. Was a great deal so hubby and I ordered the steak medium. We had yummmy cheddar biscuits. Ordered hush puppies. They were okaaay. Not the best, just ok. We got our steaks and they asked us to test the steaks. Both were very well done. Not medium. And the baked potatoes tasted like they were sitting for a while. Lobster was good but small but for the price I guess that’s expected? So the girls sent the manager over and he was very nice and said he would take 20% off. They were like hockey pucks lol. But we told them that the cooks can learn from this and hopefully they correct it. So this why we have two stars for food. But we will be back and try something else because of the amazing customer service and how they didn’t make us feel bad for not liking our steaks. And maybe they are just good with seafood? I don’t know if their expertise will be steaks? But again, we’ll be back because if the great menu options and most importantly, the customer service. EVERYONE...
