From the moment I stepped into Indigo, I knew I was in for something special. The atmosphere perfectly captures the essence of Martha’s Vineyard — effortlessly chic, coastal, and inviting. Soft lighting, ocean-inspired decor, and a gentle buzz of conversation set the stage for what turned out to be one of the best meals I’ve had on the island. The menu was creative without feeling pretentious — every dish showcased fresh, local ingredients with thoughtful presentation and flavor combinations that just work. I started with the lamb chops, garlic bread, chilies chicken which was perfectly balanced and bursting with flavor. For my main course, the dal tadka was absolutely outstanding — tender, beautifully seasoned, and plated like a work of art. The service was equally impressive — warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food. The staff clearly takes pride in creating a memorable experience. And don’t even get me started on the cocktails! The drinks were fresh, creative, and crafted with as much care as the food. Whether you’re a local or visiting the Vineyard, Indigo is the kind of place you’ll find yourself dreaming about long after you’ve left. It’s more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience that captures the island’s charm, creativity, and soul.

Read moreWe are so excited to finally have year-round Indian cuisine on the Island! We visited Indigo just a few days after they opened (August 2025), and they did not disappoint. Our favorites on the menu were the Madrasi chicken, the Goan shrimp curry, and the cheese naan. All were bursting with incredible flavor.
We also enjoyed the OG Butter Chicken; the sauce was rich and delicious, though we’d love to see a bit more protein in the portion to balance the sauce-to-protein ratio. Given that we visited within their first week of opening, we imagine they’re still fine-tuning some of the details, and it certainly didn’t take away from how tasty the dish was and we’d happily order it again.
One area that could improve was the speed of service. From placing our order to receiving the food, and when waiting for the check, the pace was slower than ideal - we waited about ~40 minutes for our dishes. It felt like the team is still getting into their rhythm, which is understandable for a brand-new restaurant.
Overall, Indigo is a fantastic addition to the Edgartown dining scene, and we’re looking forward to many more...
Read moreReally excited to have this restaurant on island! The food is good and the servers were friendly. We will definitely return, especially in the off-season. It’s clearly still early days there and they do have some things that they could improve:
The timing of the meal was off. Some things (eg paratha) that should have arrived with the curries came first, and then our mains arrived in fits and starts, stretching out over 20-30 minutes.
They seemed short staffed. There were many times when we were looking around the dining room for a server and there was no one in sight other than the bartender. It would be great to have servers assigned to specific areas so that they can focus wholly on those tables and service could be more attentive and readily available.
The house music at 6:30pm on a Thursday night seemed odd. It would have been nice to have something a little less intense. Even one of our kids said “whoah, this music is a lot!”.
All in all happy to have this new...
