Incredible place to stay. Hob Knob MV has so much to offer. Location, style, history, those scones, picturesque and so much more. Walking distance to so much in Edgartown . There are a lot of great boutique hotels on the island, but this has luxury, comfort and so much more. @Visit Martha’s Vineyard

Welcome to Hob Knob 🏨✨ The award winning and eco-friendly Hob Knob Luxury Boutique Hotel & Spa, is where you want to stay if you’re looking for a laid-back, comfortable and exquisite experience on Martha’s Vineyard. The Hob Knob Hotel is located at 128 Main Street in Edgartown (one of New England’s most picturesque coastal villages) and is the ideal location for your trip. With just a 5-minute walk to the downtown area, you’ll have comfort and convenience when getting around. The house itself is a 19th-century Gothic Revival building, originally built in the 1800s as a private home. Over the years, the beautiful seventeen rooms have hosted thousands of travelers, including Jonn F. Kennedy who visited in the 1940s with his family. As soon as you walk up to The Hob Knob, you’ll be greeted by greenery and flowers lining the pathway to the front door. The gorgeous rich-wood wraparound porch, lounges, rocking chairs and charming decor are extremely inviting and overall makes it a great place to visit. When you step inside you’ll be transported to a vintage atmosphere with creaking floors, antiques, tons of books, beautiful light fixtures, seating areas, dining room tables and an overall quaint scenery. I recommend this hotel to couples, history buffs, artists and dreamers. You simply cannot escape its magic once you’re here ✨ Who’s ready for a cozy vacation at Hob Knob?🙋🏼‍♀️ #marthasvineyard #marthasvineyardlife #marthasvineyardliving #edgartown #edgartownmarthasvineyard #edgartownma #edgartownmv #newenglandliving #newenglandlife #newebglandcharm #newenglandblogger #newenglandpictures #newenglandtravel

I just spent a long weekend at Hobnob, my first visit to Martha’s Vineyard, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment I checked in, Abby at the front desk made me feel right at home with her warm hospitality and genuine kindness. Her welcome set the tone for what turned into an unforgettable stay. The property itself is adorable and quaint, with a perfect location that’s hard to beat. It’s easy to walk to Edgartown’s downtown area—just a few blocks to amazing restaurants, cozy bars, coffee shops, bookstores, and charming shops. The rooms are decorated beautifully and feel thoughtfully curated, with colors and decor that are cozy and inviting. The beds were incredibly comfortable!! But the real standout was the staff. Everyone seemed genuinely dedicated to making our weekend special. The breakfast each morning was fantastic—fresh, tasty, and a great way to start our days. On one beach day, the hotel went above and beyond by packing us scones and water bottles, which was such a thoughtful touch. Another fantastic amenity is the beach gear Hobnob offers—chairs, umbrellas, and coolers available for borrow. It made our beach days effortless and enjoyable without the extra hassle of renting gear or bringing it from home. If you’re considering a stay on Martha’s Vineyard, I highly recommend Hobnob. It feels like a home away from home, with a touch of luxury and a lot of heart. I’m already planning my next visit and can’t imagine staying anywhere else—the staff truly treats you like family, and I’m so grateful for my stay. You’ll want to come back too.

Liked · Our stay at the hotel was a wonderful experience for the most part. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully appointed—everything we had hoped for and more. We were traveling with our dog, and it was heartwarming to find that the hotel had prepared a few treats just for her, along with a welcome dessert for us. These thoughtful touches made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. The hotel itself is full of charm and character. Every corner reveals a detail that shows how much love and attention have been poured into the place. From the elegant decor to the cozy atmosphere, it’s clear that the owners are deeply invested in creating a memorable experience for their guests. We truly appreciated the warm hospitality and would gladly return. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a hidden gem.|Disliked · The breakfast experience, unfortunately, fell short of expectations. Given that the property has been awarded a Michelin Key, we were surprised that the dining didn’t reflect the same level of excellence. There was no menu provided, and the staff did not clearly explain the available options, which made the experience confusing and underwhelming. Although we stayed for four nights, we only had breakfast on the first and last days—the latter only because we were rushing to catch a ferry. Overall, we felt the breakfast options were limited and did not meet the standard we anticipated. While we understand that not all team members may be fully trained, a printed menu listing the daily offerings and ingredients—especially for guests with dietary restrictions—would be a simple yet effective improvement. We would have happily made our selections through reception if the wait staff had not equipped to guide us. A bit more structure and communication would go a long way in creating a more seamless and enjoyable breakfast experience. I also appreciated the thoughtful message I received upon booking, offering assistance with restaurant reservations or activities. However, none of my follow-up inquiries received a response, which was a bit disappointing. It would make a meaningful difference if guest replies were actively monitored...

HELD HOSTAGE.

Booked the suite for Memorial Day weekend .

Chose hotel because it was suppose to have won accolades as “ the most dog friendly hotel in all of Cape Cod” .

Quite the contrary

When we arrived we never were greeted with dog welcome package, not even a biscuit to be offered

It was a cold rainy Memorial Day in which we stayed indoors in our room most of the day .

We didn’t even come down for breakfast

We left dogs for a few hours in the mid afternoon to get dinner

We were constantly harassed by the inn keeper that our dogs may be barking.

We would have to drop what we’re doing and drive back from across the island .

Not once when we drove back did we hear the dogs bark. Inn keeper claiming she was trying to be “proactive”

At one point we were having a 5 course tasting/ wine pairing at Charlotte inn several blocks away, which we had to leave as we were starting dinner to check on our dogs which the inn keeper later stated she realized only barked a second as we closed the room door to leave.

Our room was situated on Main Street with active rain storms throughout the day . To hear and occasional bark is one the thing but to claim our dogs were consistently barking all day long is another especially when we’re leaving dinner to rush over to make sure our dogs are

Furthermore once it was made clear that they did not want us leaving our dogs there was no hospitality or accommodations made by the inn keeper to see how she could make our experience better

Not once did we come down for breakfast and the inn keeper never offered to bring something upstairs for us

Overall.

I would say that the hotel is in a prime downtown location in edgartown, has well appointed rooms, and late night chocolate chip cookies

However this hotel ultimately fails as they label themselves dog friendly.

There is a big difference to say pets are tolerated versus welcome

If you are traveling with your pet companions I would highly suggest...
