China Wok — Restaurant in Edgewater

This was our second to go order from Chins Wok. Both orders were placed by phone. I strongly reccomed that you study the on-line menu (from a menu service- this location does not have a web-site, but we had no problem w/ the web-menu service.) I mention this because the owner/operators are not highly conversant in English. I mention this in an advisory manner only, as I've come to see this (lack of fluent English speaking owners and/or staff) as a plus,as it is a strong hint that your food will be reprentative of the original/native culture, in this case of Chinese origin. Having said all that, prepare to be pleased when you get your food! Ample portions, attractive presentation (for take-out!) The General Tso chicken consisted of more chicken then I've ever recieved at other restaurants from New York to Seattle. The breading was perfect in texture and the meat itself was definetly not "scrap". The broccolli was dark green, firm, and tasty. Prices are going up while quality is going down. We don’t mind fair increases but not at the expense of quality! I felt ripped off when I requested “easy on onions” in the Mongolian Beef, so instead, they added more beef ( he claimed), and charged $1 more on the bill! I mean, whaaaat? Who asked for that? Also, both spring rolls and egg rolls were so terribly undercooked they were pasty. The Orange Chicken had no trace of orange, the Mongolian Beef sauce wasn’t prepared properly and the cornstarch wasn’t dissolved (!). When we called to tell them our disappointment in all of our food we were told just bring it all back. On a Saturday night, we said it was too far away to bring it all back, we said we just wanted them to know. He proceeded to call us “bad people” and hung up. We won’t be going...

They didn't give us the "egg" rolls so I called and told a man who answered. I was told to come back and get them. I said we're not driving back now and the man made a note to give them to us next time. I then began to eat the Pepper "Steak" and there was no meat in it. It used to have large pieces of steak and there were only a few slivers of meat in it buried in the peppers and onions. I called again. The man said I could bring it back and he would fix it. I said I am done and we are not coming back. Their sole job is to get an order right for pick up and they clearly can't do it correctly. It also appears they are intentionally cutting portions.
