Went out for a nice dinner with my family of 4 total before kids had to go back to school, however it was anything but .
First we politely asked that our salads and our order of garlic knots to be brought out first before our meals were told of course no problem . The garlic knots were brought out with one side salad that looked poorly . We had to wait 10 mins or more for our large Greek and a dinner salad to come out. Didn’t get extra plates to eat the Greek salad on. Within a few minutes of receiving the other salads they bring out our entrees. We were not able to even eat the salad before our entrees came out. so needless to say we did not eat our salad and had a crowded table . The chicken parm that was ordered was burned and when asked if it could be refired was told that it couldn’t be cooked any less without it being raw in the middle . I informed them that if that was the case then I didn’t want it they said we wouldn’t be charged for it . Then we get the bill and we were discounted a couple dollars for the chicken only and charged for the pasta they did not take back to the kitchen .
When I went to pay I gave them the pasta back told them it was the pasta that wasn’t eaten with the parm and I didn’t want it to refund it it please and with an attitude it was but the rude attitude was a bit uncalled for …
Just as a suggestion if you can’t cook the chick parm without it burning and being cooked in the middle then maybe your temp is too high or the chicken isn’t pounded thin...
Read moreI decided to try this place yesterday (10/21/2022) after wrapping up my first week of work at the new job and I'm really sorry I did because I had a miserable time and the slice of pizza (if you want to call it that) was disgusting.
I went with my father and before springing for a whole pizza we settled on two slices first because we've learned over the years to exercise caution all over FL when it comes to pizza places. This was no exception and we're both glad it ended at the first slice and four dollars & change.
I waited outside with my dog while my dad ordered which was quick enough but we had an unexpectedly LONG wait for just two plain cheese slices. We were there for almost an hour which is just about the most absurd thing I've ever seen at any pizza place from the Keys to Gainesville! Seriously what the hell was with the near hour wait for two undercooked slices?
The pizza when we did finally get it was literally a 1lb block of mozzarella cheese that was just barely melted on two slices of undercooked dough. The sauce had no flavor, the dough had no flavor and even the little sprinkle of oregano had no flavor. The pizza was comically bland vs it's appearance which I guess takes some sort of skill to achieve?
The best description for alberto's is as a redneck italian "style" eatery nestled in a rural community with few other options, period. Other words that come to mind are certainly "Pathetic" "Disappointing" and "Insulting".
Needless to say, I won't...
Read moreAlberto's Pizzeria Italian Restaurant I looked up the menu on line , and got here just after 5pm - I’ve never been here before so I just wanted to try out the spaghetti sauce and see if was any good. So I decided to get the Spaghetti meat sauce and boil my own noodles at home. When I walked in they were pretty busy. I was telling the lady at the front cahier stand that I wanted a to go order of the small spaghetti meat sauce for $625. However the lady said they only sell the meat sauce in a large quart that is $8.50 plus tax. So I said okay and made my purchase. Then I got the menu out and stepped back up to the cashier and said “ see look here “ , it reads Spaghetti meat sauce for $6.25. She said no that is the early bird meal that comes with Spaghetti noodles.
I found it a bit confusing , because it didn’t say that at all. In fact, on the other side of the menu it shows the Spaghetti meals that reads…. Spaghetti w/ Marina sauce $8.95 - Spaghetti w/Meat sauce $9.50
The Spaghetti sauce itself was alright, nothing specular. A close comparison to Prego in a Jar with meat added to it. Other than that.. she put my spaghetti sauce in a Styrofoam cup that was seeping sauce by the time I got home. Normally , Plastic would be a better idea. Other than that , it seems like a nice enough place for an early bird...
