I was racially profiled at Chipotle on River Road in Edgewater, NJ. I've been supporting this location for over 11 years. I order from there at least 3 times a week. For example, when I go there they ask me if I want my usual so they know me there. Tonight I noticed there was a new manager or at least he said he was the manager. My wife ordered with him last week and had never seen him there before either. I ordered two kids chicken quesadillas and was overcharged. When I questioned why was I charged for three sides he proceeded to tell me the cheese is counted as a side. As far as I know a quesadilla always has cheese. I order the same thing every time and the total is always the same. He proceeded to tell me that I had to leave or he was going to call the police. We weren't arguing, I never threatened him, raised my voice and never became aggressive. He continued to call the police which was unnecessary because all I wanted was a good explanation of the charges. I've seen situations like this happen with Caucasian people at that location before and never have the police been called. Good, bad or indifferent this person is a manager representing your company and his job is supposed to be to rectify customer complaints and de-escalate them. I strongly believe this person singled us out because my wife kindly asked him last week when she was there to not laugh and speak over her food so I believe he held that against us knowing that we would return. He perpetuated a simple situation into something humiliating for me and my family by involving the police. My children were petrified because they remembered George Floyd and thought something bad was going to happen to me. Furthermore, I think Chipotle should consider more training for your employees and make better decisions on who you pick to manage your brand. For those reasons I will never go back to that Chipotle ever again because of the treatment me and my family have received there. I own a restaurant and would never, ever treat my...
Read moreMy wife and I have gone here three separate times in the last month and we’ve gotten horrible service each and every time. The young women who work here have the nastiest attitudes you can imagine and all we did was simply walk in and order. It’s disappointing to see them have such disgusting attitudes and judging by the other people who’ve reviewed this place, very little is being done about it by management. I’ve worked at food establishments and whenever we received a bad review, my manager would see to it that the situation was handled swiftly and efficiently. This Chipotle needs to do a better job addressing the customer service and attitude problem of their employees. They can’t even fake their attitudes. They’ll just turn around after giving you a fake smile and start talking about you with each other. I understand food service can be difficult. I understand people go through certain things that we know nothing about. But ladies, no one is forcing you work at Chipotle. If you don’t want to work there, leave. Simple. Or if it’s not about working at Chipotle, get a better attitude. Because walking around with a nasty attitude isn’t going to get you far in life, regardless of...
Read moreI hope that Chipotle Corporate picks up on this because I'm finding a ton of issues with the reviews to be related to how short staffed this location has been for a while now.
This was one of the few food locations open during the pandemic and have done exceptionally well in the middle of a few condominiums to serve the community.
After returning to some normalcy, and with other mall storefronts opening again, this again is proving to be one of the more popular Chipotle spots. Yet Chipotle corporate is refusing to either pay its staff more, or provide support to staff for continuing to run with less people. Leading to mistakes, etc. The Now Hiring sign has been up for a while now and now they've reduced their hours as well.
I placed an online order for 11:30 not knowing that the store opens at 12pm. The ladies were wonderful in getting food to me in a timely manner, but you can tell they were running on a skeleton crew. There were hoards of people that placed orders prior to 12pm that didn't know the store wouldn't be open. So yet, why doesn't Chipotle adjust this on their app?
Thanks to staff here for all you've done and I hope that corporate steps in to help the...
