Once you have the best you can't go anywhere else. I was introduced to the barely year old Metchen, NJ location and the 8 year old Edgewater location does not even come close or compare to them. Just getting packed in there like sardines turned me off but we were starving. They put my 2 year old across the table from me with moving traffic to the left with her high chair blocking the walkway. We tried a booth only to have the cold air down our necks and the annoy kid in line directly behind within touch length harassing my kid as Mom thought it was funny. In Metchen, you can't see anyone waiting in line for anything let alone have their kid screaming in your ear less than 2- 6 inches away. The Metchen location is HUGE: left space, right space, deck space, back space and front space ..take it one further it's even a space in the middle with sunlight views. It's booths galore on both sides of the table no benches and chairs. Pancakes in Metchen are fully cooked without the need to say well done. The eggs are fresh and not yucky tasting to my 2 year old who didn't want to eat her food there. Just an FYI: she's never refused her food in the soon to be our 10 visit. How about another issue that set Metchen apart, my kids pancakes on her kids menu item from the Lillian plate were bigger than my short stack of pumpkin pancakes. I literally had to point it out saying... excuse me..are my 2 year old daughter's pancakes bigger than mine? When they finally brought them out they stuck together when I cut them with raw pancake batter in the middle. I was on my 3rd plate of pancakes and my daughters were raw too waiting for her 2nd plate. I literally told the manager if it wasn't raining and if we weren't starving after waking up at 7am and it's 1pm, we would've left. But I can tell you this, I AM NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE! WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT IN COMPARISON TO THE METCHEN LOCATION! LESSON LEARNED, GLAD I DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, BUT I WILL NEVER GET MY TIME BACK FOR WAITING ON THEM TO GET IT RIGHT!! However, Christian was an absolutely wonderful waiter, only reason I didn't give him 5 stars is because I didn't think they had the 100% maple syrup bc he didn't offer it to me...and I had to settle for their house syrup that also didn't compare to METCHEN AGAIN! IF YOU HAVE THE TIME ...DRIVE TO METCHEN.. IT'S WORTH EVERY MINUTE & TOLL SPENT IN THE CAR! I HAVE NEVER BEEN...

Rating: â ââââ
I recently order online for my kids the Original Pancake House, enticed by the promise of their delectable whipped cream strawberries. However, my experience left me utterly disappointed and regretful. The quality of the whipped cream strawberries was shockingly poor, and I cannot help but express my dissatisfaction.
First and foremost, the strawberries themselves were far from fresh. They appeared lackluster and tasted as though they had been sitting out for far too long. The texture was mushy and unpleasant, leaving me with a sour taste in my mouth. It's incredibly disheartening to encounter such subpar fruit, especially when it is supposed to be a key component of the dish.
Moving on to the whipped cream, I can only describe it as an abomination. It was excessively sweet, to the point where it overwhelmed any hint of natural flavor. It lacked the lightness and creamy richness that one expects from quality whipped cream. Instead, it felt artificial and cloying, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the dish.
Furthermore, the presentation was haphazard and sloppy. The whipped cream was haphazardly piled on top of the strawberries, without any attention to detail. It appeared as though it was hastily thrown together, giving the impression that little care was put into its preparation. It's disheartening when even the visual appeal of a dish is neglected.
To add insult to injury, the portion size was meager. For the price I paid, I expected a more generous serving. Instead, I received a tiny portion that left me feeling unsatisfied and cheated. The lack of quantity only compounded my disappointment in the already lackluster quality of the whipped cream strawberries.
I ordered this order today at 7am and it...
Read moreIt was my first time. Waitress gave me two glass cups and a large bottle of water. I notice , the glass cups where dirty and dusty. I explained to waitress what l notice and apologized for complaining . I told her to please change classes cause l donât like it and never have l ever been to a restaurant that gave glass cups like that. The waitress told me that all glass cups looks like that and itâs not dirty , itâs scratched . I still didnât like to see that. I never invite people to my house and serve them scratched glass cups. I was very hungry so l let the situation slide. The second complaint, was l notice my daughterâs pancakes taste different than mine. Didnât understand why but when waitress came to table and ask me if food ok. I mentioned to her that l notice that syrup on my daughters pancakes taste nasty. Waitress told me that maybe my daughter batch of syrup wasnât good. So wonder if taste nasty. Children donât continue to eat food when something taste nasty. So, l had to eat it . This was my second complaint so l felt uncomfortable. My third, complaint which l didnât tell cause l felt extremely uncomfortable was my daughter had strawberries and cream and my daughter notice their was chocolate in her strawberries. My daughter doesnât like the taste of chocolate and stop eating her strawberries . Again, l had to eat her strawberries. I didnât want to waste food cause itâs a sin , so l ate it. Didnât want to complain to waitress and make her feel uncomfortable . Employee , have to be aware of serving people there food. Thank God my daughter is not allergic to chocolate. Iâm going back Friday with a friend and hope the experience...
