Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Edgewood

As a frequent diner, I recently visited Applebee's in Edgewood Town Center in Edgewood, Pennsylvania. Regrettably, my overall experience left much to be desired. In order to provide an honest review, I must outline several key points that significantly impacted my visit.

First and foremost, the restaurant's outdated ambiance is truly disappointing. It is apparent that Applebee's has failed to keep pace with contemporary restaurant trends and design. The lack of updates and a fresh look makes it difficult to ignore that this establishment is stuck in a time warp. It's disheartening to see a lack of effort to create an inviting and modern atmosphere.

Beyond the décor, the menu at Applebee's failed to impress. The food offered was typical of a low-class restaurant, lacking originality and excitement. There was nothing that stood out as exceptional, and it felt like a missed opportunity for Applebee's to showcase their culinary potential. While the wait staff was commendable and friendly throughout my visit, their service alone could not surpass the evident shortcomings of the establishment.

Moreover, the layout of the restaurant felt poorly planned and uninspiring. It was clear that the space had not been optimized to enhance the dining experience, resulting in a rather crowded and awkward setting. As a result, it felt more like a rushed cafeteria than an enjoyable, relaxing environment for a meal.

Unfortunately, the lackluster ambiance and underwhelming menu overshadowed any positive aspects of this visit. With countless dining options available, I have no intention of returning to Applebee's in Edgewood Town Center. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an exciting culinary experience.

In conclusion, Applebee's in Edgewood Town Center fails to deliver a memorable dining experience due to its outdated ambiance, typical and uninspiring menu, and poorly planned layout. To revitalize its appeal, an extreme makeover is urgently necessary to keep pace with the evolving expectations of today's diners. As it stands, Applebee's merely mimics the underwhelming experience offered by fast-food chains, lacking the flair and creativity it once possessed.

Sad that I have to give this terrible restaurant a 1 star rating just to voice my opinion.

To start we walk in and it's people about to fight. Then by time we finally get seated it takes 15 minutes for someone to come ask us what we'd like to drink. Another 5/10 minutes before the drinks even come. Still forever probably another 10 mins waiting for the extremely unprofessional waitress to come take our order. At this point our waitress as well as another one of her colleagues are standing next to our table flinging a broom around and just loudly talking. Time goes by and another fight is about to break out while waiting for our food. At this point our waitress is no where to be found while our drinks have been empty forever. Finally she shows up and asks where are we from? ( i can only assume since we were the only people in the restaurant that weren't of color)The food came out one by one and the waitress once again not doing her job is flipping standing next to our table still talking so we ask for sour cream and she continues to talk and not acknowledge that we are even talking to her so we ask again and her response is "k" with an eye roll. While eating we were talking about how ridiculous this place and our waitress flips a table into the back of our seat. Then comes to the table and says "Are you guys okay" while smiling and she knows damn well it was uncalled for. Finally we are done and she brings the device for us to pay and after we pay we proceed to leave and while getting in the car she is shaking her head flipping us off. Like are you kidding me.

Also, I go in to use the restroom and there is no toilet paper nor soap and the bathroom is a filthy mess. Overall worst experience ever!

Kenya was the worst server in there and absolutely shouldn't be allowed to work there anymore. Her behavior was extremely uncalled for and...

Horrible experience! Upon entering took awhile to get noticed. All tables were dirty had to wait for a booth to he cleaned. We were seated at a booth and finally greeted after 7 minutes for drink order. Drinks came about 10 minutes later brought out by her manager. Waitress was always in back. I finally was able to get her attention and place are order. App came out nice and hot just no napkins had to get up and get our own. Main course came out nice and was satisfying. Waitress did put in the bigger portions of ribs when asked for half. Adjustment was made on check. We also We served with no silverware again Waitress disappeared. Our food was getting cold so I got up and went the host / take out girl. I asked her for silverware and waited till she was done cashing out a guest and asked for silverware the second time and was told to ask my server. She than continued conversation with the guest. She was flirting exchanging phone numbers. I than asked for a manager and she said i would have to wait until she come out cause she was not getting her and continue flirting and hugging him never getting silverware or manager. She was very rude and unprofessional. Thanks to Julia the bartender for being so kind and handling the sitiuaton in a professional way. She was very sweet. Manager came to table explained situation was apologized to and offered free desert. Experience was for sure a disappointment. Waitress needs alot more training.
