P.J. Whelihan's is a welcomed addition to the Newtown Square / Edgemont area. We visited them about a week after they opened, and it was an overall great experience. There's plenty of beautiful bright TVs and a nice big bar. Service was even better than I expected for such a new place. Everyone seemed to be pitching in to keep things going. Great beer selections, but it's a limited cocktail menu (but they'll make you whatever you want). Food was generally what you'd expect for a sports bar. We enjoyed the garlic & parm wings, loaded tots, California Crunch salad, a burger sans bun, and a salted caramel crunch cookie dessert. Everything was good, but the burger was missing some toppings & I just realized my salad was missing the avocado. The chicken on my salad was obviously breaded on site and not just frozen chicken fingers which I greatly appreciated. I'd expect the missing toppings kinks to be worked out once they've been opened longer. A lot of nachos were ordered around us, I definitely will be trying those next time. The tots could use more toppings, too, per my husband. Seating is somewhat limited (at 4pm on a Saturday with no big game on) and there isn't much space to wait for a table if it's not nice out. They are still working on the side room that presumably will be used for parties. I wonder if it will offer seating when not used for parties. There will be seating outside in nicer weather, so that will help, too. I'd be happy if they implemented some sort of online table reservation service (looks like some other pj's are on open table). Happy to have another solid option around. Looking forward to going back to try those nachos.

Never thought I would actually write a review on a restaurant but couldn’t help it after my experience at Blue Bell. I was really surprised to see how downhill The location has gone. Place smelled like stale beer and was super dirty. We sat outside and as the waitress was cleaning the table next to us the cleaning spray was blowing on us and our appetizers. When I said something she didn’t even make eye contact and continued spraying as she “apologized” and continued to spray more. Didn’t even ask if we wanted new appetizers. (Pro tip spray the rag away from customers then wipe the table). To top it all off, the wings ended up being the worst part of the experience. (Mind you I have talked up PJs wings my whole life). They were super cold and the bottom of my basket looked like this. I could only get through 2 wings and had to stop because they were soaked in grease that had a minor hint of hot sauce. PJs used to be good but looks like they are trending down. It was so bad I wrote my first review ever.

Well, it's 5 months later and I decided to give it another try. According to the sound meter on my phone, it is over 95 dB in here at 5:30 pm. This will cause hearing damage in about an hour without protection. If you must eat from here, get take out or come with ear plugs and someone you have no interest in speaking with. PREVIOUS REVIEW: The food is great and one of the only alternatives to pizza/Italian in the area. HOWEVER, the music is deafening. It so bad that the wait staff has trouble hearing the customers and I can't talk to a person 2 ft away from me. This is a perfect place to eat if you hate the person you are with, already hard of hearing, or have the option of turning your hearing aid off. Otherwise, order takeout.

It was my first time here but my husband has been to PJ’s at different location. Upon entry we were immediately greeted with a warm welcome and smiles. It was super busy because the Phillies were playing and the game just got started. We were expecting to wait long and had no issues with that. The Host took our name and advised us he would get us a table as soon as someone had finished which can be unpredictable during game days because people like to sit and watch the game in its entirety. In the meantime the Host offered for us to grab drinks if we’d like at any of the bar areas to help pass time. I point this out because this is amazing customer service. He was not annoyed with how busy it was as more people were arriving looking to dine in and he offered other options for us rather than just trying to kick us out the door, it was very reassuring and just a great way to make us comfortable while we waited. It only took 5 mins and he went and found my husband to let him know our table was ready.

We were seated and our server Danielle, immediately came to greet us. We ordered our food and everything came out in pretty quick timing considering how busy it was. Danielle was super attentive and sweet. Wings were huge and delicious. I really like the PJ’s Famous Fries. Next time I will try some burgers. Even as I was leaving other servers were friendly and it really made my first experience here enjoyable. I’ve been to other establishments during Phillies/Eagles games and the staff seemed miserable and uninviting. Well we no longer go there and will hopefully become regulars now at PJ’s! Great staff, service and...

let me start by staying i’’m a 4 time iron man athlete, i have invested THOUSANDS of dollars in top notch equipment/supplements. Recently i bought a new bike for 4,500$. I was test driving it the other night when i was overcome by extreme thirst on mile 15. I parked my bike outside the local sheets & went inside to get a large fountain drink (mountain dew im a sucker). When i came back outside my bike was towed… i was distraught. I needed to decompress so i headed over to P.J. Whelihans for my favorite sandwich: an american waygu french dip. I didnt feel like talking…just wanted to eat and figure out how i was going to tell my parents about my bike especially since i can’t make rent for their basement now this month. When mackenzie first came over to me my whole mood changed. She was a breath of fresh air. That girl made me laugh the whole night. If i wasnt down 4500$ i probably wouldve tipped her but she said it was no big deal and told me i can pay her back in burner phone minutes (odd request😂) anyways thanks mackenzie for everything you did for me! You were the friend i needed...
