I try not to leave negative reviews for small/local businesses, but my experience at CoffeeZone was so disappointing that I felt it was needed in order for there to be some improvement. From the start, the service was abysmal. We had to wait an unusually long time to be seated, and then an even longer time just to receive menus (in a restaurant with maybe 50% capacity). Once we finally got our food and coffee order in, the wait for our food felt like forever.
The staff were inattentive throughout our entire visit. Several of them were on their phones, and we could barely get anyoneâs attention when we needed something. Our server never checked on us after bringing our food, leaving us feeling completely ignored.
As for the food, it was a huge letdown. I ordered the Chilaquiles, and the chicken was dry, cold, and hardâhonestly, it tasted like a piece of frozen chicken that you reheat from the microwave for a bit too long. When I mentioned it to the staff, they offered to replace it with another breakfast item, but we had to wait 15 minutes just to be told they couldnât make breakfast anymore.
The overall lack of care and poor service made this a very frustrating experience. I left hungry and disappointed, and I most likely wonât be coming back any time soon.
I want to reiterate I do not believe it was the server's fault entirely, but rather the lack of management properly training front of house and back of house staff. The overall experience can be improved with basic service that management should teach staff.
Takeaway Points Greet everyone coming in/leaving Menus at table upon seating. 2-Minute greets and drink order from the server Once any item is on the table return within 5-minutes and ask about the quality of the food. If something is being remade or changed make sure that the order goes through in the kitchen before having a guest wait 15 minutes for a "sorry we can no longer make that...
Read moreI've always experienced great service at coffee zone but after seeing what happens behind the scenes I question their methods and don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Seems there was a breakfast party going on and someone felt their pancakes were too burned. Server brings them back grabs them and flips them over onto another plate and takes them out again. Couldn't really see if they were returned to the same individual who sent them back but what I do know is that the server (Jessie) did not wash her hands before grabbing them and did not use utensils to flip them over to another plate. The next thing may have been an error but I had ordered one egg over easy with bacon, beans and an English muffin but I got 1 scrambled egg with sausage, potatoes and a cuirsant. HMMMM! A real over sight on someones part and it wasn't mine. I want to think it just wasn't my morning to stop by coffee zone and should have picked some other restaurant because the moment I sat down the server gave me a menu with missing pages and when I asked her about it she said there was a party going on and I'd have to wait for a menu if I wanted to see a full menu. Unfortunately someone else had a bad experience there too but just doesn't know it. They ate some hand tossed pancakes without knowing they were eating pancakes they'd just sent back or some unsatisfied customers pancakes. Like I said I'd never seen that side of coffee zone but I've also never paid too much attention to what happens behind the scenes. It looks like a great restaurant with great hygienic practice but you never know what is really happening behind the scenes until you take a really close look. Scary thought!...
Read moreUsually this spot is just a drive thru spot for me, decided to do brunch for the first time in a couple years. So donât really know the routine of how they do things inside, went in with a friend. We initially ordered coffee at the counter and stated we were dining in. I asked if there was a breakfast menu and the woman said yes but didnât hand me anything so I assumed we would be given menus at our table. We were brought our beverages. And talked for a while no menu no server. So I went to counter to ask for a menu and saw a couple of the side. So I grabbed one for us to look over. After a while I figured I needed to go to the counter to order as no one ever came by, a different girl at counter proceeded to tell me that Iâm suppose to order with a server and I stated that no one ever came by again. She said âthatâs because you ordered at the counterâ so I said âyes we ordered the drinks but then I asked for a menu and stated we were dining in. No one gave me a menu or followed up at the table, can I just order now?â So I proceeded to order at the counter. Food and coffee were ok service wasnât bad necessarily it was just the overall vibe and sort of blaming me as the customer for the confusion. Not really sure what I could have done differently. Iâm sure this place is just use to their regulars knowing the routine. Just overall didnât feel good about the experience and wonât be going back. I want to feel good about where Iâm spending my money and tipping. And this...
